One of my favourites!

Well, I just had to laugh the other night; I switched on the box & caught the tail end of Casualty - & there was Adrian Edmondson, playing a doctor. When he was Vivien in the Young Ones, he was a medical student... so all I could think of was him nutting someone....    :D

ooooooh, I love Eddie Izzard! Lucky you ^_^ I'm watching Mulan with Joe at the moment; dunno what I'll be watching later. Anything that drowns out these damn poppers and fireworks. They should be bloody illegal like they are at home, I swear. Buggin' me the last three damn nights... it's a one night affair, people, KNOCK IT OFF!! *ahem* Joe is pacing and demanding I make it quiet... yeah, I can see that working out... He's 'allergic' to big offensive noises, kinda like his Momma LOL Wonder if there is anything peachy on the telly... could be a DVD night. Haven't watched 28 Days Later in awhile!

I have to disagree. I really enjoyed this movie. I thought the story was great and 2 hot guys getting it on - come on! How can you not love that! Well at least me anyhow ;)

I think they should have had some more intense scenes though, if you know what I mean :c030a:

Common, this is Joss Whedon's stuff.  Well there were other fantastic writers for BTVS, but it was his thing.  And Alien resurection sure left me hanging, with sigorney and winona returning to earth....need a sequel to that!  I mean, what happens next?

I dont think i watched the serenity series, it was all screwed up on TV, but the movie was really great!  I really want to watch the series in full, the way it was meant to be broadcast but wasnt.  Dang, add it to the list.

The Producers! starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick and we can't forget the luscious Uma Thurman! Oh what a friggin hoot and doesn't Mr. Lane remind me just a touch of Zero Mostel? Anyhoo if you can catch this one I recommend it, talk about a laugh a minute! Hysterical!

The Producers has got to be one of the most hysterical movies I've ever seen, and that's saying something, considering I saw the original version with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder, and Dick Shawn,. I'm not usually a Matthew Broderick fan, but he was fantastic and Uma Thurman was unbelievable as the Swedish starlet, Ula.

Nathan Lane was BORN to play the lead,  and the parts of the 'gay' theatrical team were brilliant. Stunning performances and outstanding script...another masterpiece by Mel Brooks.

My favorite line:  Uma Thurman's part of Ula, (type casting?) where she sings, dances and shimmies her way around the boy's office wearing a gorgeous sexy white dress, does splits and otherwise makes the rest of the female race look like lumberjacks...

She stops and asks.."Do you like?"

Nathan Lane's line? "Do we like? My dear, even though we're sitting down, we're giving you a STANDING ovation"...

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Caught in interesting made for tv movie last night. 'The Trial of Tony Blair'. I wonder if a majority of people in the UK really feel that he is so shallow and dislike him so much. I did think it was funny that the writer made Hillary Clinton the next president. LOL And he made Gordon Brown (sp) out to be a spinless gid. It was an interesting movie to say the least.

OOOOOooOOoOO!!! I watched Burn Notice last night after Maya screamed in my ear, "IT'S ON IN 5 MINUTES!!!!!". So we parted ways on the phone and each went to our respective TV sets and watched it. I thought it kicked ass and was very funny and quirky, I think I'm going to watch this regularly from now on.

*snarf* Yeah, you're right about the complete lack of good available men, all we seem to get is whining, little milk-sucky guys who complain about how their ex-girlfriends cheated on them with the Boston Celtics or something and then want to cry about it ovah heah. *Damn, think I'm channeling Joan Rivers*

All except for Bilbo of course, he's a paragon of manly virtue. He'll even take our abuse and seems to enjoy it. Some guys are just gluttons for punishment. Love it. *Sigh* Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Yum.

Anyone ever read or seen the movie Pride and Prejudice. Well over here in the UK there is a four part series called Lost In Austen. It's a comedy about this woman who's mad on that story and somehow ends up in it.  All sorts of things start going wrong which she keeps on saying things, that's not how it happens in the book.

It's a time travel story with a twist, because those characters don't actually exist.

Here's a link at you tube. They've shown two episodes so far and you can watch them all if you like.

The next one is showing on Wednesday, so I think that person will up load it on Thursday.

Even though I love Jane Austen movies, they all seem to be pretty much the same story, glad to see someone is doing a parody of those films, I bet it's hystercial. Regency style films are great, but all the men seem to be a bit pompous.

I can't have that..

oOOOOooOO BURN NOTICE GOSSIP!

FROM THE NEWSPAPER.

Jeffrey Donovan, the star of USA'S Burn Notice was arrested in Miami Beach on Sunday for suspicion of drunk driving, TMZ reported. Donovan, 41, admitted to having three drinks at the Fontaineblue, but later said, "The only mistake I made tonight was drinking Benadryl with three glasses of wine."

YEAH RIGHT! *snarf*

If your referring to U.N.I.T that was around before Torchwood was created.  In fact unit always dealt with alien treats and Dr Who.

Well the first two episodes may appear to be SNORE jobs but it does pick up.  Some really sad things happen but I can't say as I don't wish to spoil it for those who wish to carry on seeing it.  Although Angel got to me disclose some spoilers to her via email.

I just wish BBC America had shown them the same time as us Brits had seen it at the beginning of July.

It's not every one's cup of tea.

My self I prefer the first series when all the team were together, before they killed them all off.

Oh Ketana talking of tv have you been watching series two of True Blood?  What do you think of it so far?

The original series from USA stars Jeffrey Donovan as agent Michael Westen who receives a burn notice or termination notice so the spy business throws his skinny ass into Miami and there he tries to find his life once again and get back into the spy business! In the meantime he helps people and he likes to blow up a lotta things *snap* and he's fucking cute and sexy as all get out! And Fiona is his sidekick who likes to shoot people..I like her! Then there's Sam who worked for the FBI? and he likes to have his beer and he helps Michael out whenever he can! It's a good show and my favorite at the moment!

I'm actually hooked on RuPaul's Drag Race Yes a reality show to search for America's Next Drag Superstar.  I actually got hooked with Season one and a few months ago met Shannel one of the final four and Damn it's not fair that a man can be that Beautiful!

Anyhoo...I never knew until I started watching this show just how bitchy a Group of Crossdressing men could be.  They take PMS to a whole new level! Monday the 19th is the season finale and I'm rooting for the bitch Raven to win although I have a sneaking feeling the winner will be Jujube

The other Tyra just irks the hell out of me for some reason,  and Raven is a first class bitch, but I think out of all of them she has the "star" quality.  My fave was Pandora Boxx but she got eliminated.  I just thought Pandora was the best Impersonator.  Her Carol Channing was dead on!

I watched a clip of it at the website, it looked hysterical!  I've never heard of logo TV, I have the dish, so I'll have to see if it's part of my line up. :stoeckl:

is a bit obscure being that it is a GLBT Targeted channel. I only found out about it because I have a lot of gay friends.  One of them does Drag.

I get it on Direct TV, so Dish Network may carry it also.

And yes the show is hilarious!

If you think Drag Race was hysterical RuPaul's Drag U is really going to be a side splitter.  Logo is going to be airing it this summer.  Biological women getting lessons from Drag Queens!

Then again,  they may be on to something because some of those queens are beautiful "women" but butt ugly men!

Ru and his queens are back.  I missed the premiere of DragU but watched at the Logo site.  Jujubee and Raven were still at it!  If I hadn't watched Drag Race I wouldn't have known which were the women and which were the queens.  New episode tonight and I'll miss that one too.  Going to be at The AT&T Center for the WWE Raw broadcast.  We got good seats! close enough to actually see the ring but still far enough away to avoid the blood splatter!:carrots_disco:

So I just found a new show last night. "Smoking Gun Presents: World's Dumbest"

Take really stupid people and throw in less than intelligent celebrities like Danny Bonaduce, Tonya Harding and Todd Bridges to add commentary. It really makes you wonder how humanity has managed to last this long!

It's taken me a while to pick a favorite in the drag race this season. No one really stood out to me until this week. My favorite for the season is Raja. I loved her Marie Antionette goes hippie look. Not the typical 'beauty' Queen either. She's pretty Androgynous in her look.

I always wondered if Patrick was a closet queen because damned if he wasn't serving up some society bridge club 'realness' as RuPaul would say. He looked just like some uptight local society matron.

Another good drag movie if you can find it is Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Drag from down under.

So which bitch has caught your eye this season?

Raja definitely brings it with her bold choices on the main stage. Shangela is definitely getting an obvious push. I think those two are going to be in the final 3. No one else sticks out, it's a pretty whitebread group of queens this season. I must say Both Carmen and Delta Work are working my last nerve.

Manila just is annoying me by constantly relying on the Asian stereotype, kind of like Carmen with the body. Don't they have anything else to offer?

Alexis is kind of that 'safe' middle of the road, I really don't see her standing out. Stacy is just too naive country. Delta is pretty consistent too although she stumbled with her Cher. And Oh God please hurry up and send miss Shangela home. The more I see of her the less I want to see! I liked that Civil War Corpse bride dig.

The full episode is not up yet but this was a pretty interesting episode of Deadliest Warrior with all the geek speak and ASS-umptions being made about vampires. In this case perhaps they should have called in Quincy to give the medical view of things because dead people do not have the same physiology as the living. Or we can just send Kai to inform them that the dead do not 'bleed out'.

*chuckling*

"Deadliest Warrior" must be Jones-ing for new stuff if they're reduced to fictional creatures.  It's a lot more interesting when they compete with people and weapons that truly exist.

But that's just my humble opinion.

I like the real people too but I have to give them credit for trying especially with things like Vampires 'bleeding out' and 'succumbing to viruses'.

Hello! Last I heard, dead things could carry bacteria but viruses needed a living host.

Deadliest Warrior seems to me like a fun kind of show but I was horrified when I found out that there are people out there who take that shit seriously...:-)
Come to think of it, by making a vampire special or Blade vs. Nuada Silverspear special or whatever, the show actually sort of admits its true colors...:D

I don't often recommend TV watching -- unless, of course, there's a big flying bug, dead man, babe in lizard skin etc. involved -- but I highly recommend Hulu.com's new production Battleground.

http://www.hulu.com/search?query=battleground&st=0&fs=null

It is a comedy/drama/mockumentary based on an underdog campaign for U.S. Senate.

Watching "Da Qin zhi dao". Four years of holding my breath, biting my knuckles and grinding my teeth - and now the long wait is finally over!
10 DVDs and 45 episodes of scheming, backstabbing, negotiating and lobbying Qin style! :-) Telling the story of the downfall of Qin dynasty through the story of its most ambitious building projects (with focus on the great Qin road - one of Qin Shihuang's most impressive achievements).

I think it is a tad too biased in Qin Shihuang's favor but the poor guy does deserve a break after all the bad press he's been getting since ancient times...

OK, halfway through, bracing up for all those gruesome deaths (there are going to be quite a few, some of them pretty heartbreaking) - and keeping an eye out for some affordable release of "Spring and Autumn of Yancheng".

I'm going to mention Hulu's web show Battleground again for the sole reason that I find it so very much above average. I have no pecuniary interest in Hulu, Battleground or its producers, Microsoft and a litanny of other source of possible income I'm not getting. I just think that the show is cool; the same way I felt about Lexx once and still do nearly as much after so many viewings.

The show is a make-believe documentary of a political campaign and features a U.S. senate candidate and her family, and her campaign manager and his menagerie of assistants and workers... and family. The political campaign-wonkishness component is there but there is so much more, so much more.

Except for a few rough spots, I've found all the characters compelling and interesting to watch.

The tenth episode that just aired seems extraordinarily clever because the back-story elucidating "prequel" is in the form of a yet earlier, and more amateurishly-filmed documentary.

Who here watches/loves "Once Upon A Time"?

I've made a video for Youtube on Rumplestiltzkin's love story from that show, because I love Robert Carlyle, and I almost swooned when they did it like Beauty and the Beast.

If enough of y'all want to see this, I'll post the link up here.  Lemme know.

I was just was surfing around yesterday looking for something to watch, and decided to check in at Hulu for possible developments with regard to "my show" battleground.

The Battleground team, from left to right: Lindsey Cutter (Lindsey Payne), Cole Graner (Jack De Sena), Kara 'KJ' Jamison (Teri Reeves), Tak Davis (Jay Hayden), Ali Laurents (Alison Haislip), Ben Werner (Ben Samuel), and Jordan T. Mosley (Jordan T. Maxwell). (Credit: Hulu) (Caption text credit: thedailypage.com)

I found several "behind the scenes" clips I'd never before seen, let alone played to death.

In one, an interview with writer and director J.D. Walsh, I heard something which was strikingly reminiscent of something Paul Donovan said in one of the Lexx DVD "extras."

Walsh: "I am not interested in doing a show  that... that is slightly mediocre and appeals to everyone. You know? I'm not interested in doing a show that 'people like' -- I am interested in doing a show that people *love*."

While watching another clip I learned that J.D.'s directorial style is much appreciated by the cast, because he is a "actor's director" who is more like a collaborator to the actors than a director. He doesn't yell "action" but rather says "whenever you are ready" -- sometimes performing a sort of good-vibe chant or rap while effectively making it all the more clear that the shoot is being done according to the timetable of the people on the other side of the camera.

I'd say, "Yes, J.D., I'm willing to wait too."

A particularly appealing aspect of the show -- besides Lexx-grade delight Teri Reeves -- is how Walsh often writes the actual names of the actors and actresses into the script. Perhaps it should be seen as a clue that these are real people, real characters? That's exactly the way they come across.

J.D. Walsh, in clear Lexx fashion, himself appears as part of the cast in this documentary-style show; as the cameraman, of course.

While researching the show's prospects, I read a David Bushman column refering to it which gave me another reason to like it: FOX passed on it.

http://www.paleycenter.org/b-bushman-battleground-and-veep-living-in-a-political-world

This show's cast and crew deserve more chances to develop the story, and I hope they get them.

Am over at my cousin's home and just watched Death Proof with Kurt Russell. I never seen it before and found it quite good. It said it was a thriller, but the ending was funny (in a sick kind of way). I'm so glad she has Movies On Demand.

Finally can get to this..had a horrible head cold and wasn't in the mood..but I'm better now..

Amish Mafia..at first I thought to myself okay so what now? the cows misbehaving? bees ain't doing what bees supposed to be doing? but noooo oh noooo this has to do with good christian people or so we think..funny but human nature always manages to shine through with bullshit..there's this fellow named Lebanon Levi and his minions..slack jawed bunch of thugs who run things in Lancaster, Pa. such as Amish telling on each other! tattletales with bibles..the worst kind.."Oh Lebanon my neighbor hangs her panties on the laundry line to close to my home!" or the taxi service they use in case their scooters or horse and buggy can't go so far, tries to overcharge them and we can't have that can we now since they are so forthright in their rightness..gads. In order to make money they have hut parties..now wait a minute..I thought they were supposed to be close to the land and live clean lives and read their bibles at night before going to bed?! but noooo the young gather at a home/shed/barn and drink and dance, sex each other up, smoke dope which they call green corn! sheesh! honestly..what a load of crap!! sure did change my mind about the Amish..rumspringa indeed!!

I can't get off the bad horror movie kick.  My entire family thrives on bad B horror movies lol.  I actually watched O-Zombie and found it funny as hell.  I suppose I should clarify that B horror movies in our opinion are actually unplanned comedic brilliance.

I have actually seen attack and Return and neither one was able to cure what ailed me.  For crying out Loud I even pretty much enjoyed Plan 9 From Outer Space.:xsorry:
