It's a hard choice because many of these are really good shows, but I chose Supernatural as the current show that I really like and am getting into.

Let's see...from that list, I'll have to go with TNG.
For Sci-Fi Channel original programming gone before it's time, I'm thinking Invisible Man and Tremors.
And for one that's not on the list, HBO had a nifty little gem called Carnivale that ran for two seasons before it was unceremoniously shitcanned (on a cliffhanger, no less). Not sci-fi per-se...more like a cross between The Grapes of Wrath and The Stand.

I havent heard of half of those shows. As for all time favorite, thats an impossible task to answer.
I will mention some favorites.
Earth Final Conflict, first seasons....totally unavailable now.
Relic Hunter. Excellent show, again, limited availability.
Lost World... Corney but cool, after 4 seasons ended abruptly without being resolved. Nice DVDS out however.
Currently with no cable access, the only shows i can watch are Smallville and Terminator- the Sarah Chronicles. I have watched every episode and like these shows. Smallville has taken a huge overhaul unfortuntately, but remains true more or less. Much of the best characters and story lines simply dissapeared, but the new casting and stories continue to be good and true to the greater "superman" concept.
After 7 seasons Clark will finally start to wear the silly suit, and Lois will be his true love. But I still miss Lana, Lex, Kira. I hope this series doesnt go the way of XFiles, where key characters are gone but they try to make it work.
The last episode of Terminator had a great scene with Cameron confronting her semi but inferior equal in an elevator.
I just realized there will be no Terminator episode tonight due to baseball world series. Thats ok, I was thinking i have never watched Lexx season 1 unedited, so tonight i can start with that.

There's talk, supposedly, of rebooting the Superman film franchise, since apparently Superman Returns didn't make the kind of money it was supposed to. Should they go that route, I think it might be cool if they simply have the guy from Smallville make the leap to the big screen (although I've never actually watched the show, so I have no idea what kind of actor he is).

He's an okay actor, he could probably pull it off, plus he's hot, (not that you guys would care). The show never really captured my interest to watch it regularly, in fact I'm rather surprised it's lasted this many seasons.

Figured I'd resurrect this thread with a couple of early 90's gems that were royally stepped on by the network (Fox, in this case): Earth 2 and Space: Above and Beyond. For the love of God, someone please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers those shows!

Oh My Gawd! You mean someone other than ME actually watched those? I watched them religiously, then *poof* they cancelled them. I liked both of those as well.

Hey thanks for the submission, Bilbo, there are just so many good shows out there, it's a miracle anyone has even voted at all. Maybe I should do one poll with just Star Trek spinoffs and another one with the UK scifi shows...Hmmmmmmm

No actually i dont remember those at all, and thats wierd because thats when Babylon 5 came out, and it seemed like the only sci fi on, along with DS 9.
You are probalby too young, but I know you are an Alien enthusiast. I got to see Alien when it premiered, at a top theater. It was great. Then when Aliens came out, a friend of mine got special premier tickets to an advanced showing, one of the special effects people actually came out on stage just before the showing to talk about the film. That was pretty great too.
Back to TV... the original sci fi shows were very serious, and real sci fi writers (twilight zone, outer limits) but then just got silly (lost in space, batman) with dumb hollywood writers. Startrek went back to the good writers. Recently its fascinating to watch Startrek TOS remastered for digital. I wonder if there will be a 1080i version of that. But compared to watching it on a black and white crt, its like seeing it all again. But my point was, Startrek brought silly back to serious, and also introduced sexy. As a kid I was kind of embarrassed to even watch it, but the serious factor made it something deeper.
On Thanksgiving weekend i stayed with someone who gets Sci Fi channel. Yea, sci fi! But it was all James bond, then Mork and Mindy marathon. WTF? I say we take off and nuke it from orbit, its the only way to be sure. Punch it Hicks!

Okay so this is an old one and did not last very long so I may be the only one who remembers it, Quark starring Richard Benjamin.

That is so vaguely familiar, I looked it up and I'm certain I watched it as a kid, just don't really remember the story, but I loved everything sci fi. Around that time, maybe a little later, Mork and Mindy came out and that was my favorite *alien* show in the late 70's.
