Just finished 'Game of Thrones' I can't believe how long this series is, but it's really good. One of those books that's hard to put down. Can't wait to get the next book in the series. Reading all 5 books should keep me busy to the end of the year! :D

I haven't read the books, but I've watched the series, which is addicting in itself, the series are good, so I imagine the books are too.

It was one of those books that was hard to put down because it was hard to find a place where you felt like you could leave the story. I can't wait to dive into the next book.

On a more serious note, I just finished reading Full Body Burden Growing Up in the Nuclear Shadow of Rocky Flats It's very sobering considering I live 6 miles from the old Rocky Flats bomb factory. I found out (and I didn't know this when I bought my condo) that I'm in the contamination zone created by burning of plutonium waste at the factory. In fact a near by lake (open to public recreation) has measurable plutonium in the lake sediment from the factory. Pretty sobering stuff.

Just re-read the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series again. Getting ready to start the Dirk Gentlys Holistic Detective Agency and then A Long Dark Tea Time for the Soul.

I have 8 books I'm reading at the moment. I know sounds ambitious right! Wrong ! It's like TV or music are you always in the mood for the same thing? So it takes me forever to get through them. One is a very dry book on the Hittites. One is on diet and health. But mostly I'm reading the legend of the seeker series, and Dresden files at the moment.

Arcticfox, but how do U keep the mood of the books seperately? I understand how U do it with different generes, but within one? And don't U have this sensation that U simply must read it up to the end?

Well some of what I read is more drama, some is humor and I slowly pick my way through some non-fiction. I have a love hate relationship with non-fic sometimes I absolutely love the topic... but it can be a bit on the dry side. And then there's a few literature classics I really have no interest in them and don't exactly enjoy much but read now and then because they are classics. I think there may be the possibility I am ADD. But they didn't have that term when I was in school I was always getting in trouble for daydreaming.

Arcticfox, I understand Ur reply; however, I've got another question. Why to read something only for a tick? I mean that when I read, I do it mainly coz I feel a certain demand in myself. When I read a book it means that I go through everything with its characters and when U don't like what U r reading, it seems senseless to me. U might say that U've read Dostoevskij, but U won't be able to participate in any discussion, coz U've just read the words but not the ideas these words hold.

I have not read many books that almost all well-educated people consider their duty to read. But I can't. We are not, let's say, on the same wavelength with them. So, I'm just waiting for the right time to read them. And even if this time never comes, I don't think it's bad not to know even main classic novels.

I even think that it's harmful in a certain way. Hope, U get my question_)
