Well it's come to end of an era regarding keeping cats.  I had to have my beloved 20 year old cat put to sleep tonight.  I'd been crying all day and cuddling her and then when 6pm came she was asleep on my lap and so cute and I had to wake her ready to put in the cat box.

She had gone blind and deaf, and has had kidney problems for about 4 years now.  Then over xmas she developed a blood short eye.  She already had heart murmur and trying get meds down her was impossible.

Her last months were spent mostly up stairs in the hall because the poor little thing could not managed to go down stairs.

I wanted to keep her if she did not develop the weeing on the floor as she could no longer get into her litter tray.

I wanted to hold her while vet gave her the injection and it was just like she was sleeping.  she was still warm and I did not want to let her go.  I had to leave her there because I'm too physically disabled to dig a hole in my garden to bury but you can't find garden now as it's all over grown.  So the vet said he'd have her sent to a pet cemetery.

She used to be my late mum and dads cat. I am so going to miss her.  It was bad enough when my 10 yr old ginger cat had to be put to sleep back in 2013, he was only 10 yrs old and he had an enlarged heart and throat cancer.  We had him as a stray but the other one we had her from a tiny kitten.

So when my parents died, I was left the two cats, and then only one and now I have none:(

I'm not well enough to have another cat sadly.  I'm going be so alone now without my fur babies.

In the next week or so I'm going have to sort out all her bedding as my sister said she'd take it the cat's protection league.

For some odd reason I had to sign a form before they put her down.  My sister kindly signed it.  I asked the vet why I have do this now and he would not say why.  Back in 2013 I never had to sign anything when I had my ginger fur baby put to sleep.

My Dad's memorial service is Sat. My mom has Alzheimers and had to be moved to the nursing home wing of the facility where she was living. I'm not really sure what to expect when I see her Thursday. At least she seems to remember me when I call. I'll be glad when this week is over and things start to settle down.

Did the Doctor's ever figure out what had caused her not to wake up when your brother found her?

Nope. It's still a mystery. I wondered if she was having a migraine but no one knows for sure.

*drama queen hangs up her crown* *sigh* My Mom was unhappy in the nursing home where she was at. I can't really blame her since the nursing home part of the building was a remodeled old hospital. She was sharing a small old fashioned hospital room with a room mate. It was a tiny room with a curtain dividing the space between the 2 beds. There wasn't rally much to do during the day except watch tv and bingo on Fridays.

So....my brother and I have been scouting out nursing homes that provide 'memory care' close to either one of us. Memory care means they provide activities that people with dementia or Alzheimers can participate in to keep them as mentally sharp as possible. My mom is doing much better since she got on the medication that the neurologist prescribed for her. She hallucinates a lot less and unless she gets tired, she is pretty good about staying in the present with everyone else instead of dwelling on memories of the past.

My brother found a brand new nursing home that just opened up in Utah, about 6 miles from his house. Mom got the last available room. It's a nice little facility that houses only 16 people. They each have a private room (larger than the room she was sharing with a room mate) and a big open kitchen next to the dining room, more like a house. So far so good. She is close enough that my brother and sister-in-law can drop in or have her over to their house for dinner. Also my nephew and his girl friend can drop in to visit. They even have a hair stylist drop in once a week and an area set up as a beauty salon.

Sounds pretty nice even though I've found nursing homes to be one of the most depressing places I've ever been. I think it's because by the time you have to live in one, you have given up your independence entirely.

Sounds like she's in a much better place now and it's better that she's near family that can visit her regularly so she doesn't feel alone. Glad you got her settled in and sound like she's doing a bit better on that new medication!

So pleased to read your mum new nursing home is much better and more helpful to her.

Also having family near to visit regularly means she is less lightly to forget who they are. I know when my neighbor went into a nursing home and I was able to visit, she would remember me more when I once visited her twice in the same month. Sadly I do not have anyone to take me there to visit her. She was an only child, so has no visitors I was told. The home she's in is miles away and take an hour to get there by car.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,:u055a: you would not believe what has happened to me this week.

Firstly back in May I ordered a yarn ball winder with my amazon voucher. They stated it would take up to a month to be shipped. So yesterday the day it was suppose to arrive and I waited in all blasted day, it never came.

So I contacted the seller only to be emailed by amazon to tell me said seller has now  left. So then I try and get in contact with amazon and all you get is all this list of questions that don't relate to your one and saying contact them. Anyway I did find a number but they were not available.

So today I had to go online earlier then I wanted to. Then I found a chat button and they rang me back and it was Indian call center. Anyway the up shoot of it is I got a refund of my voucher back into my account.  I'm partly deaf and it was really hard trying to understand the man accent on the other end.

Then yesterday I had to order a filter kit for my gtech K9 vaccum cleaner and other parts and it came lunch time.  No filter kit but they sent me a whole brand new vacuum cleaner.  So I had to ring them up and first they said it would take ages to sort out and I told them it's their problem and I'm not around tomorrow, so they best ring soon as I don't wish to me mucked around.

Well some woman did ring me back and I asked for the missing items to be sent to me and the other item sent back tomorrow or Friday but could they let me know as I'm suppose to be somewhere tomorrow have to rearrange it.  Well she said she could not tell me as it's the warehouse that deals with it.  So I said it's their problem and they should really contact me regarding this problem.  She said I'm an honest person to report that I have brand new vaccum.  So I said I had to report it because I did not want extra money taken out of my account.  I looked at the invoice and it's correct so I don't know how the f..k they got it mixed up.

I've not finished yet.  About two months ago now I had to get a new wireless mouse for my desk top computer because my old one which is very old is now taking nearly all day to charge up. And it's slow too while using it.  So I ordered new one, same brand and it's faulty.  So I emailed them regarding this and they rang me back.  I told them what the problem was and how I had tested it to see if it was the software or the mouse and it's the battery that is faulty.  So I'm asked if I want replacement and I said no, I would like a refund please.  So I get told a courier will be around to collect it.  So earlier on I get an email with message saying they got my faulty mouse back and that there were no more replacements for it and would I like another item or if not would I like a refund and that I would have to ring them back.  They said I could not reply back in the same email.

I don't get free land line calls during the day and it was a premium phone number.  So I tried my land line at first and they kept me waiting, so I hang up and tried my mobile as I have pay as you go and it's cheaper to use then the land line during the day.  After ten minutes I hang up.  You all know the types of phone line call center help lines, your phone call is important to us, sorry we are all busy and some one will be with you asp, mean while your phone credit is running down.:u055a::u055a::u055a::u055a:

So I found a different email addy and emailed them tell them I'm not very happy with their email.  I just got a phone back saying they don't know why I got this email but it has been noted that I wanted a refund and I would be refunded in 4 to 5 days time.

So as you can read I've had a crappy day and could scream if it were not for my face hurting so much and my headache.  I am beginning to think I have this invisible sign on my head saying treat me like crap.  That's something an old friend from years ago used to say where she worked, she would always get the shity people coming to her or phoning her up and no one else had to deal with them.

So I have spent the last two days waiting for two different deliveries only to find out that one of them has nicked my money and not sent the item and that other one has sent me the wrong item.

I will never order anything from pcworld again.  I usually order my mice from the company that makes them but because I needed a new dictaphone, I thought I'd order it at the same time.

You know while I was talking to amazon Indian call center the man said they'd send me an email regarding how good the call was and I told him I'm not doing it until I have refund.  Because it's one of those eforms that asks has it been resolved and I told him I know it's not his fault but amazon but I'm still not doing it until it's sorted.  So my did that get sorted quickly.

Sorry for such a long message but I had to get it off my chest so to speak.

it's too bad that you couldn't have kept the new vacuum cleaner!

Sounds like a mountain load of shit just slid down the mountain all at once.

I already the same vacuum, I just wanted the spare filter, because you have to wash them with cold water, so I need spare in order to use it while the other one is drying.  It's a very expensive vac too, so you can why I had to contacted them.

It shouldn't be such a hassle to get a mouse replaced. Unless they went out of business or they just don't make that model anymore. Sheesh, what a hastle.
