I voted for Season two because of all the exploring they did, season three was great for the visuals, and season one for the beginning of the misfit crew's story, but I liked season 2 best. |

My favorite season was the Movies, season 1,hands down. The film quality was better, the sets, much bigger and Kai was much more emotional than in subsequent seasons. Next after that would be Season 3 because it was shot in Hi-Def and it had such a dark story-arc...AND WE GOT TO SEE KAI IN A LITTLE BLUE DRESS! :beat_hea: |

I forgot to post which season I voted for! My vote went to season 2. I like the whole Mantrid story arc and some of my favorite episodes ever are in season 2. |

S3 was definitely my favorite. I loved the idea that the season was one continuous story with many different sub stories going on at the same time. I love complex and twisted plots!![]() |

Season 1, the movies... All Lexx is great, but in S1, the "WTF" factor was most profound, I guess, and I just love this Lexxy "WTF" feeling. |

Each season is so unique that any could be my favorite depending on the criterion. The one-and-a-half hour-long format of the Season One was used to great advantage for building suspense and a sense of entrapment in a deeply dark world, amid stark allusions to behavior in our world such as the allegory to drug addiction in Eating Pattern; and the bitter longings for some form of self-preservation in the face of great adversity. I also recount that Season 1 featured a suffocating pervasiveness of Bureaucracy and its callous disregard for life in the first and last episodes which leads me to associate it with such masterful dystopic classics as Brazil and Blade Runner. (#1 in dystopic nightmare) Season Two is a bit more light-hearted by comparison. I think this was the most wacky of all the seasons - though to be sure that is a close thing. (#1 in escapist sci-fi wackiness) I didn't like Season Three at first. I didn't like the fact that it marked the end of Season Two's antics and I didn't like the whole afterlife mumbo-jumbo and the strict dichotomy between good and evil. I especially didn't like Prince because he is such a scary dude - much more so than any other one of the show's bad guys - and Prince was foremost among factors that so greatly limited the Lexx's crew - and especially Stan - in their ability to control their own destinies. This was the only season that Security Guard Class Four wasn't able to blow up a single planet of his own accord. (#1 in pure horror) Just like Season Three, Season Four grew on me over time. I grew accustomed to the life-after-death theme and got to enjoy seeing how old characters from the first two seasons continue to be brought back. I liked the way direct references to our society and current events could be made. In this Season just as in all the other seasons Stan and the crew on occasion found themselves powerless against formidable enemies, but at least now and then Prince showed signs of weakening in his new incarnation such as becoming trapped in a T.V. set. (#1 in lampooning our society) Overall, I vote 2,1,4,3 (I guess the cod piece scene of Season 3 didn't mean that much to me... I liked the look on Mantrid's face while he chewed up that bug though!) Good points, all of them... "Dystopic nightmare" is the perfect way to describe season 1. I couldn't come up with that in the wee hours when I was making my comment... ;o) It's true that picking a favorite season is a tough process. I chose season 3 for now since I just finished re-watching it. It's still fresh, I suppose. However, there are so many things I love about each season that it does become a bit like having to "choose between your kids," ya know? I've started re-watching season 4, so perhaps when I'm done I can better evaluate their placing. I will say, however, that when I recall Lexx as a whole - just randomly in my mind - I most often think of moments from Season 2. |

Season 1 was legendary, Season 2 was goofy and provocative, Season 3 was dark and edgy and Season 4 was....what can I say? Jeff wrote a ton of the material so it was schizophrenic to say the least. Some eps were pure genius (Fluffdaddy, The Game) and others were a yawn-fest. My least favorite season as a whole but it had some of my favorite eps of all time... Xanax anyone?![]() ![]() |

I voted 1,3,2,4. I love season 1 for Zev an Kai and this unbearable love and distance between them. They were so close to each other but still separated until the final scene. I was so looking forward to the other seasons for I hoped this would continue but with Zev's dead and Xev coming up this bond changed a lot in my opinion... I liked then Season three for it had a lot of highlights in it but I missed the "lost in Space" or "Welcome to the Darkzone" feeling in it for they spent all their time on Fire/WAter. But it had a lot of highlights and I liked the there-and-back relation to good/evil, dark& light. Second season comes definately before S4, because here the weirdness of the "Dark Zone"-things came up very clear and it was again a space-adventure with more than weird planets and adventures. And we found out more about Kai in Brigadoom and I liked best Wake the Dead. Other episodes like the ones with "the Goolains" on it I could not watch without drinking something... that was really a bad episode... Season 4, well, was good, but not LEXX as I expected it. It was too close to real life. The wickedness an madness of the alien creatures, His Shadow, Mantrid, the terror of the Bioviziers, everything of that jut missed in there. There were some good episodes in it but I missed a lot the lost-in-space character. And again I missed the esxual tension between Xev and Kai... The end, well, that really was an impact on me. I needed 1 week to get my thoughts running right again so I think this was the best episode for all the sorrow, sadness and wickedness came back with an impact. I knew Kai would die in this episode (I read it in this forum for S4 never was published in Germany - but I got an UK import of the complete Seasons) but I was not prepared for SUCH an ending. It was LEXX, it was suitable for Kai (finally I see it like this), it was the way I always was afraid of and it happened roughly, brutish and with no compromises. Just like S1.1 began. The only thing I still cannot cope with, is that Xev and he never got closer than a kiss... I hate it when whishes don't come true and I must admit, I was hoping till the last second that things would change and at least this one wish (of mine) would become true. But LEXX has proven that wishes won't turn out well or stay unfulfilled. So it truely was LEXX again this last episode. So far for now. |

season 1 and season 2 tie for first place But i voted for season 2. I enjoyed their dusfunctional family growing closer. They made noble attemts to be heros. Also to keep one another safe. On a few actions Stan and Xev would take a bullet for one another. or die together that's how found they were for each other. Not just that Stan to me was noble and had a good moral campass he wasn't so selffish. Stan was pretty brave for one and did ok for himself and the crew. Then season one I love Xev and Kai together they were so romantic and just flat out adorble. Kai was so sweet and very much "alive" and willing to be as long as Zev as around. It was nice to see them bond lol plus Kai ending the divin order was a plus. 3 we meet the evil Prince but i felt bored from them been on fire n water so long. But I love Game town |

Old thread but replying anyhow. It pretty much went in order for me. 1, 2, 3, 4. I loved the original Zev and though I understand why she was not continued in the show, I do think Xenia's attempt was admirable for a redo of the character. There was just something about Eva that was so right for the character, though. I think she just seemed innocently sexy in just the right way. I also liked Kai in this season as he seemed to be a little more heartfelt and had more chemistry with Zev, which was interesting. By season four I was really tired of watching. I did like some of the later shows but the first ones in season 4 did little to nothing for me. |

S4 as a whole grew on me in the end. At its worst it is really awful but at its best bloody hilarious. And in a lot of ways, S4 is the darkest one. |

They all seem a tad dark to me. I think the first season is pretty dark, I mean, you have a creepy insect guy, disembodied brains, Kai gets dismembered a bunch, and well, it's just nice dark horrible fun. LOL |

Yep, Lexx is a very dark show - but S4 when at its darkest IMHO takes the cake. It has to do with the humor as well. Yep, lexx humor has always been of the dark, rather cynical sort - but S4 to me seems a lot more vicious in many ways...:-) Could be the setting and the context, though... Taking Lexx to Earth has made a lot of stuff that had always been there feel a lot more direct, methinks. |

Really hard to pick a favorite. I think season 2 is the most dynamic, so that's what I picked. Season 4 is my least favorite because the story felt a little rushed. There are unforgettable moments throughout the series though, and I would never say any of the seasons were bad.... |

Season 1 and 2. with Eva Habermann is my favorite. The end of season 2 and all of season 3 dragged in spots and had repetitive scenes. At times in season 3 I felt like the crew of THE LEXX, let's get out of here. Then I remembered, the show was now produced for American TV. Season 4 was a hoot. All in all THE LEXX is the best show ever. |

When Cesare brought up the notion that S4 was the darkest. I had to ponder the guestion. Was the 4th season dark? Seasons 1-3 are total fantasy, something we can go along with and get lost in the make-believe. With season 4 , We are no longer on THE LEXX traveling to the nether regions of the universe. We are home on The Little Blue Planet. This some how changes our perspective, even if it is satire. This becomes a story of US, and the story line isn't far from reality. Bravo, to the Beans they knew how to engage our minds, whether they wanted to or not. Therefore, in conclusion, I would have to agree with Cesare and say, yes to season 4 being the darkest. Prince is cool. He is the enemy everyone wants to love. He can kiss you while stabbing you in the back, both, at the same time. Because he can. Not because he's evil. Mantrid, on the other hand is purely insane. |

That was a difficult choice. Local channels announced Kai as a space vampire (!), living on blood. Then Skiffy aired the same two episodes repeatedly and Kai never bit anyone as most vampires do nor did he xonsume blood. I did remember the actor who was Kai as one who'd appeared on FOREVER KNIGHT as Father Roquefort. Hard to forget, indeed. I found LEXX so confusing that I didn't watch again until Nigel Bennett showed up in the third season. Then I was really confused. It took a while until I found my footing. People on the Skiffy board helped immeasurably. |

Season 4 - Most evil, political, trashy and it was prophetic. I wonder all the time if Trump is an alien. Season 1 - Darkest dystopia ever, and this bond between Zev and Kai Season 3 - so philosophical. Hell is a whole lot of paper and paragraphs... ![]() or the key... when Kay is into death/Prince. Seems, he shows personal initiative for the first time. When he says, "I am not aroused and it makes no sense." And then: "I want you" and means death. Or this kiss with Xev/Prince, her tongue in his throat, obviously interested in the taste of a dead man. That was really dark. And hot. Season 2 was good also, it reminded me a bit of Star Trek ![]() Last edited on Thu Mar 5th, 2020 07:22 pm by Lisa |
