I've had a migraine since Wednesday, and the meds, while they take most of the pain away, make me a bit loopy (yes, more so than usual). Well, today I ran out and went to get some Nurofen for migraines (the best substitute I've found so far) at the shop, and being Saturday Joe went with me. As some of you may know, lately I've had some trouble with youngsters tearing down the alley between my house and the neighbour's house, bashing on my door as they go which has been pissing me off to no end.

Well, today there was a group of kids in the store, acting like they own it as they do. Joe went to choose his weekly magazine from the rack, and when he came back, he was calling 'Mooooooooommy!' and these little gits started to mock and laugh at him. I don't know if its the medication, I don't know if its having had quite enough of the disrespect we've been shown lately, but I snapped. I turned around, looked right at the little punk and I told him, 'you mock him one more time, and I'll give you that slap your parents should have given you months ago' I went on to tell him 'he's disabled, you little snot, and NOBODY disrespects him, am I understood?' Little punk looked at me, then snorted and turned back to his friends. They did it again, and I actually moved toward him and he went into the next aisle with his friends... looking like he was anyway of course. I rolled my eyes and told them to 'grow up' then went to pay for our things.

The guy at the register, who knows us as we're regulars, was like 'having a bad day?' I told him, 'I've got a migraine, and I can't see out of my left eye without this nifty kaleidoscope effect... other than that I'm peachy!' Joe, the little darlin', stayed right with me, and even stayed on my right so I could see him and not be quite so nervous about being half blind today and that close to traffic. He held onto me as well, so I knew he wasn't too close to the road ^_^ He's a holy terror most days home (freedom!!! heh heh heh), but he knows when Momma genuinely can't deal!

Kids can be so mean to other kdis, and you're a momma bear protecting her cub, you did the right thing.  Hope your head is feeling better now and that you don't look like a demented left side twitching momma bear.  :icon_wink:

Heh heh I am in touch with my inner feline ~_^ I'm better now, I had pain on and off right up through yesterday, but so far today seem to be alright, so hopefully this wave is over now. It has had one benefit... last night when this local group threw their ball into my garden, rather than jumping over and getting it themselves as they used to do, they came to the door and said please, thank you and we're sorry LOL That's right, ya disrespectful little so-and-so's! Fear me!

Yeah....I think it´s good to tell such kids from time to time on which side one´s bread is buttered on....

The don´t get it at home I think...and kids need and WANT this from time to time...they need to know who they should respect...but their parents often forget thaat it´s necessary to show them their limits so they can learn this respect....good that such mommys like you are out there Kitty!

And I´m glad to hear you´re better now....

There's nothing wrong in been insane, as I went insane ages ago.  And it's ok to chat to one's self, as long as your not standing in the middle of a crowded supermarket having an agrument with your self, lol.

Gawd, I'm sitting here in hysterics because your cat siggy pic, Dragonflygurl, is dancing in perfect time with the song I'm listening to, Tom Petty's Running Down A Dream.

I've not hit the talking to myself in the shops yet... I'd rather talk to the other people and tell them exactly what I think of their inability to control their trolley... and the necessity they seem to have in slamming it into the backs of my legs! Last year, on one of our store outings, this really grouchy looking woman actually hit Joe with her trolley. She knew she'd done it, and Joe was understandably very upset, and I just looked her full in the face (usually I avoid eye contact with people) and told her 'thank you, I do so appreciate you mowing down my five year old child, please do it again in future! Perhaps next time you could knock him flat and finish the job.' She ignored me. I have little tolerance for strangers, so I don't care what they think LOL It's like when teenagers make fun of him on the bus, I've been known to turn around and tell them 'he's Autistic, what's your excuse?'

Maybe I'll let them play with the puppy before he is house trained... if I'm lucky he'll wee on them and take revenge for Joe...

That's awful but ppl like that are selfish.  It's like my friends daughter when she a child had second hand school uniform and the children in the play ground used to make fun of her, so one day she walked up to them and said "At the end of the day I can take my dress off, can you say that about your face."  They never made fun of her after that and then I learn that it was her mum who had told her to say that, as she was understandable up too.
