Hi,

I am new to this forum and I brought something for you: a fangame of our favorite show! :)
I would love to know what other LEXX fans think about it!

It is already finished and it is online (and it was a f*cking hard work to pull it off, I might add! ^^). I also have a trailer of it on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=em6SepicPMI

(that trailer contains some bad spelling errors... sorry for that ^^)

The game takes place in the times when Stan was the assistant deputy backup courier for the heretics and it shows you the final hours of the heretics outpost we saw in "Gigashadow".
You play a nameless pilot (who will, of course ^^, die at the end) on that outpost. There you get your mission targets, and then you start and fly to your target and then you have to fight against fighters/gunships of the divine order and the subnebular mercs! :)

Also Prince has a Guest appearance when your health goes under 100!  :)

My goal was to restore at least a little bit of Stans reputation, by adding some overall stupid circumstances which led to the destruction of the reformed planets.
I hope I told the story good enough that its clear that Stan is not the main guy to blame, but only the dot on the top of the i ;)

The game itself is a typical space shooter based on action like in games like Star/Freelancer.

You can play the game here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/101028919/ostralB/WebPlayer.html - thats a webplayer version of it. This means: you don't have to download anything and nothing is written on your computer.

Attention: you have to install the unity webplayer to play the webplayer version! "Unity 3D" is the game engine I used to create this game and the unity webplayer comes directly from the company who made the engine! Its a safe download of course. The game itself, like I said, does not write anything on your computer (except for some variables which are storing your game progress and the quality settings - unity can't handle that sort of thing differently).
If you don't trust unknown software you could go to http://www.unity3d.com and see for yourself that unity is okay to download :)
(also you can let your creativity loose with this game engine, since its for free!)

If you prefer a downloadable version, you find it here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/101028919/The%20heros%20of%20Ostrol-B_V1.2_win32bit.rar
as the filename says: its a windows only version. Its a 32bit build, but it should also run on 64bit machines. This version also includes a readme file, where you find some info about the game :)
But this is an old version and it contains some spelling errors (not that the webplay version is free of spelling errors...).

I really hope you like the game and please let me know if something goes/is wrong, so I can fix it :)

Yeah, and at the end some advertising ;o) : you can also go to my website, just in case you want to know who I am or something ;) http://home.arcor.de/tte/index.html  (german language) :)

Very nice =D this is the first Lexx game that I've seen on a 3D engine (that isn't saying much though, there very well may be more). Back in my 3DS Max days (since moved on to Blender, never looked back) I wanted to make small Lexx (post S4) fan game with the UDK, but that fizzled out.

Keep up the awesome work!

I have not seen much lexx games at all, except for one by a dude from russia, which looks very interesting, but because everything is in russian language I can't play it ^^

Cool that you are a Blender user too! Blender rocks! ;)
Why don't you try making your fangame with unity? Unity does the most REAL hard work in gamedesign (it still is a extreme hard work, but you don't need a doctor title in maths for example. Unity does all the math). Or maybe we can team up and make a game together (just an idea though ;) ).

Keep up the awesome work!
I try ;o) thanks!

I would love nothing more than to work on a Lexx game (preferably third person ARPG, or just a straight action/adventure game), but right now I'm trying to build up my (currently non-existent) portfolio. I have a smattering of incomplete models, and that's it.

So due to that I'm trying to avoid spending time on work that is/can be interpreted as derivative. Ontop of that I'm in a dead end job I'd like to break out of, so as tempting as a Lexx fan game is to me, I'm trying to stick to original projects that could eventually be used to turn a profit (believe me, that feels as bad as it sounds).

In the future if I found myself with lots of extra time I'd be down with the idea, or with a Lexx-esque sci-fi game of some kind. =]

Looks neat.  It reminds me of some of those old Star Wars X-Wing games from back in the day (and believe me, I'm saying that with a big, goopy, nostalgic smile on my face.)

Hmm...sounds like "noble accolade" is what you were angling for, unless you had some sort of Jedi pun in mind.

Whatever the case, Sir Bilbo's been jerked around by Google Translate before too, so we shan't quibble.

I'll have to give that game a try this weekend, provided my infernal machine allows me to download it.
