The first movie featured some nice partial decapitations, such as the Divine Shadow(s) getting his brains scooped and Kai almost getting disabled by Thodin.
Rewatching Yo Way Yo yesterday, I noticed a beheading that I'd either not noticed before or forgotten about.
Right near the end when Kai approaches Dr. Longbore's particle collider, a blue flash emanates from it and kills two of Longbore's erstwhile associates, a woman and a man. The young man's head disappears from the scene and then briefly reappears. Nice bounce!
Lexx was so replete with references to death in many forms and I think beheading is a kind of nice way to go, relatively speaking.
The beheadings can be broken down into two categories: those that characterize total complete and unequivocal death, which I'll call Type 1 beheadings, and those those which do not, Type 2. (Funny to consider that decapitation does not signal the end of all things, but that's exactly what happens in many cases.)
The type 1 beheadings are analogous to the not quite as frequent death by contact with large objects at speed causing widespread blood splatter, such as the slave thrown from and onto the tower in Girltown and the wandering spacefarer colliding against the Lexx at the beginning of Giga Shadow. (Honorable mention to the astronaut who is commanded by Prince to go outside the shuttle and check for the presence of aliens; he ends up getting toasted by the rocket engines after being partially tenderized against the shuttle body.)
Season 1, Ep 1, IWHS decaptitations.
Let's see if I missed any.
Bugbalm (after spinning off from rotating fan blade "bugbalm... lost... head... !?") (And yes I know how its supposed to be spelled, but I'm trying not to get picked up by D H S.) (Type2)
790 (by clusterlizard eating his body) (Type2)
Clusterlizard (under love slave machine hood) (I initially classified this as Type1, but the creature lived on withing the character of Zev, so it's a bit of both.)
Assistant Chief of Security (by her own hand via blackpack) (Type1) (Was the Chief decapitated -- or completely dematerialized -- by her previous shot? It went by too quickly to tell for sure, I thought.)
One of Thodin's men (First Kai kill of show) (Type1)
Kai (by Thodin. One funny little detail is that when Kai picks up his top 5%, it leaves a wet ring on the smooth surface of the Special Projects area floor it had been resting on) (Type2)
