Bwahahaha. I too always fall for the tragic hero, or just the weird, non-typical one. I tend to like aloof ones as well, not sure what that says about me. My boyfriend is a horrible mixture of Stanley Tweedle + Kai (Aloof, dark, kind of seductive in that way, plus just plain over-the-top perverted with a wicked sense of humor) so that explains some of the attraction of the show for me. I agree that it is normal for a female to want to repair what's broken in these types of non-typical heroes. It makes them more interesting psychologically as well, to me at least. I liked that I kept seeing new patches of Kai that I didn't know about and I liked it that he wanted to be dead and was okay with it. It made the story unique, interesting and very intriguing to me to have that type of characterization that I hadn't really seen before.
