I am watching LEXX again maybe it's me but kai feels like he was a bit more warmer Like he showed "feeling". Also seemed like he showed glimps and bits of facial expressions in the first season. To me he seemed like he would grin whenevr he saw Zev. Also I think it was a good thing Zev has a gentle spirit which helped when they come face to face with Kai in I worship his shadow. He seems to respond on how people react if they are aggresive he will react in violence with out question. But if they are like Zev he seems to lag on the responds. To me he seemed like he was less frigid when Zev was around. Also seemed more easly persuaded by her to do tasks. Also he didn't seem to mind her speace invaiding and seemed less dead with her. Since i have this post up might as well make it useful lol this are my findsing on the first season of LEXX. Kai seemed "happy" with Zev and I think enjoyed her company alot more the Xev. He was more willing to play her game in a dead guy kinda way. I liked Zev a bit more then Xev character wise. I love Zev's passion she shows for Kai not taking his the dead do not things. She never gave up when she heard him use those lines like Xev did. Does anyone know why Zev got killed off? Kai seemed like he was trying to express grif when Zev died. He put her liquid ash in a jar with out been told to do it Idk it's just my observations :)

The Zev character was killed off because there was a spanse of time between the making of the movies and Season two. By the time season two came around, Eva had other work commitments so she could only make the first two episodes. I like how they wrote her death scene, she sacrificed herself for the one she loved.

Kai is definitely much 'warmer' toward Zev than he is toward Xev. With Zev he's is a lot more 'gentle' in his rebuffs to her advances than he is toward Xev. That single "Likewise, Xev." In Boomtown (Season three) is very abrupt and impatient.

His reaction to Xev's death is the exact opposite of his reaction to Zev's death. He makes a conscious decision to 'bring Zev home' with no outside stimulus to do so. When Xev dies his reaction is almost like "Oh well, good riddance." He doesn't expend any extra effort to do anything to bring her back, that is left up to Stanley and Stan almost has to push him in a way.

Kai is definitely more animated in the movies than in the rest of the series. He had a bit more spark of personality, you know? His character became a lot more robotic as the series went on. I think maybe it's because Kai's personality was sort of a reflection of what was around him. Zev was interested in him so he appeared more interested. But Stan and Xev were more interested in their own pleasure and their own problems, so with them Kai was more remote.

I think that Zev had a vulnerability that Xev just did not have. For me, that made her more endearing. Zev was lusty, but was also wanting an emotional connection with Kai. Xev just wanted sex. I also think that MM and EH just had better chemistry than MM and XS.

Yeah, you can see it cut the tension with a knife when it was MM and EH. I was always cheering them on. He was so adorable with her lol. He was more tolerant and noble with her. With Xev he seemed very annoyed everytime she opened her mouth. Perfect example Abby he was like shut the f*ck up when he said likewise lol. I guess he saw Xev are a child, that has to be baby sat and always has to be bailed out of jail. Unlike Zev he wanted to do he best to make her "happy" he didn't see her as a child. So Zev and Kai's relationship was more dynamic and heated lol adult functional. Not like Xev and Kai's kinda fell apart I believe when she wanted Kai to do it with her. He flat out said no and he couldn't like he was waiting for her to hold him and say I will not give up I will have you!!!! Like Zev would have but she throw a fit like a 2 year old said she hated him and left. He seemed confused by this he just looked shocked. It made me really sad if it was me I would have hugged him and gave him a kiss and said I love you still.

Poor Kai was trying really hard to make the two dysfunctional people happy. But Stanley and Xev were to selfish to see what he wanted for them. I wonder how things would have been if Xev would have stayed on the show. Kai would have been "alive". But he might have come close to showing his weird way expression of "love". I love how he seemed to show comfort to her in supernova episode how he wrapped his arm around her.

Episode 7 Season 2 Love Grows

Just watched it and I like this one talk about a gender bender day from hell. I can not believe what Xev and Stand did ewwwwwww. More proof how Stand is open to new experiences haha. If you were on the LEXX that day would you and Stand have done it? Would you have lowerd your standards? It would have been halarious if some how it would have effected Kai. I know you need to be alive for the hormones to affect you. But it doesn't stop me from thinking lol what could have happened to Kai if he some how joined the "fun". Would have been some site to see the ex-assassin been over sensitive and have a high pitch voice? Here are some things I think he might have said to my amusement I think of him as a valley air head girl....like first lady Bunny. I think it's more funny then a gothic direction for him. Here are somethings I see Kai saying in a high girly voice "Ewwww what was I thinking when I got dressed today!" "I mean look at me in black and looks so old and dusty" he looks so upset. Then he puts his hands up and feels his hair "what is going on with my hair! how come no one told me it looked like this" Pointing at that huge bund sitting on top of his head. The other "guys" trying to cheer upset Kai up " I think it lovely Kai" said Stan the other two guys from the other transport ship can't remember names "Yeah, make you stand out in a good way" both of them say at the same time. Kai looks up at them and seems less flustered "really?" all together "Really Kai we wouldn't lie to you" " Awe thank you guys so much made me feel better" then he looks at his hands "Omg! why no one told me I had dirty finger nails!" "My poor hair got split ends like crazy!!!" Stand goes to calm Kai down but he jumps up and covers his face with his hands "DON'T LOOK AT ME I AM UGLY!" as he dashes away and shouts again "UGLY!" the greatest melt down of the millennium Kai's show would be. I don't think Kai would be effected to change his part down under. Just watch him be all emotionally distressed would be worth it to me :D
Well that's all I got to say on this right now while I think on it some more. How would Xev and him interact with each other anyone have ideas?

My favorite scene from that episode is when Lexx asks Kai, "Am I... attractive?" And Kai says, "You are beautiful."

Love Grows really shows how hedonistic Stan and Xev were. It was all about their own gratification. It's kind of funny, but I think another reason why the dynamic of the show changed with the switch over from Zev to Xev is that Zev kind of pushed Stan to be better, to think about things other than just his libido. But Xev and Stan were actually kind of alike, in a way. They were sort of after the same things, and there was no one to pull them in a different direction.

My favorite part is when Xev says "I've become a lot less picky" She then gives Kai this totally disdainful look and adds "to a point."

The look on Kai's face is priceless.  I can't figure out if he was relieved that she was chasing someone else for a change or offended that he was off the radar!

Kai was pretty smooth when he answered LEXX lol he was "nice" about it. If it was Xev I don't think he would have answered her, with the same tone of voice like he did with LEXX. Yes, Zev made him think by using his brain not the thing in his pants. Zev showed self-control which rubbed of on Stand some. She would't have given into her needs like Xev so quickly does. Yeah, Kai seemed frustrated with his two kids as time went on. One thing Zev/Xev share is when they thought Stan, was doing something wrong they would stop him from doing further damage. Other then Xev was as self-centered as Stan and like you said thought of their wants first. I love watching Kai in the movies he seemed "lively". I think he would have eventually "expressed love" in his dead man kinda way. If Zev would have still been around instade of Xev.....:P he didn't grin or smirk when he saw Xev like he did with Zev. I miss that about him I thought that was adorable as heck. To bad Xev was to selfish and gave up on her love for kai and went after lively people. I don't think Zev would have ever given up on him. More proof of how selfish Xev was :P

Xev did have her good points. She was funny sometimes, and she wasn't always selfish. (Just mostly :D) I didn't dislike her, I just preferred Zev. And I think the show lost a lot of the emotional gravity when Zev died, and I really missed that.
