I am reading some of the reviews Netflix members gave to the show LEXX. They are saying they have edited parts out......is this true? This made me very made then I have lost some parts of the story. If this is true rats I have no clue what I missed out on. This bites big time, does anyone know about the Netflix streaming LEXX been edited? If so tell me so I can go look for the whole show I feel ripped off :(

Also there were a lot of haters saying how much the show sucked, the special effects, the acting, and the story line........dude. I am to upset and tired now I got cheated out of LEXX. Then the haters ranting made me feel even more crappy. Well if someone knows about the Netflix thing then help me out by pointing me in the right direction so I can watch the uncut version :D

It's an eccentric  show I guess not for everyone but its right for me so they can :kissmyass:! If I have to get the DVD do they sell the unrated version at Amazon?

I don't know about the Netflix versions being edited, but I do know for sure that you can get all 4 seasons on DVD uncut from either Amazon or Ebay.

I think you have to be just a tad warped to appreciate Lexx, or at least willing to admit it!:D

Anyone who called him a zombie, is correct even if they don't know it.  Before he got his memory back he was a mindless reanimated slave of His Shadow.  That is the traditional non 'Hollywood fantasy to sell movie tickets' definition of Zombie.

Hollyweird has changed the meaning of what a zombie is with all of the George Romero inspired flesh eating dead people movies.  Zombies in 'reality' are mindless slaves resurrected to do the bidding of the voodoo priest/priestess that brings them back from the grave.

'Real' zombies have nothing to do with eating flesh and brains, that is a Hollywood concept that has nothing to do with the original definition of a Zombie.  A good movie to understand the traditional concept of a zombie is The Serpent and the Rainbow which based itself on the original Voodoo definition.

Actually what Hollywood calls Zombies is closer to the Native American Wendigo. Which usually has a taste for human flesh. Zombies have been getting a bum rap ever since Night of the Living Dead came out.

Kai needs a t-shirt that reads "I'm a Zombie and proud of it! If you don't like it, talk to the brace!"

If that's the true definition of a zombie, then how would you define a Golem?  Or is it essentially the same thing?

I was pretty sure a Golem is something that was never human to begin with.  It's actually when a sorcerer or shaman creates the form of a human out of inanimate stuff like dirt and cloth, then magically animates it to do their bidding.

I guess Kai would not be a Golem then, so he must be a zombie.  He's just the hottest zombie I've ever seen!

I'm not sure on Golem. I'm not that well informed on those, but both Zombies and in some cases Wendigo start off as actual living breathing humans. The difference is that Zombies don't eat human flesh. They don't eat, they simply do what they are told to do.

It was uninformed 'fans' that labeled the flesh eaters as zombies and no one ever corrected the error. So now we have two different types of creatures with no connection to each other called 'zombies'.

And yes Kai is one hot Zombie!  :eusadrool:

Or not.  An argument could be made that once he regained his memory and free will he was no longer a reanimated mindless slave but a brand new 'undead creature' that defies definition!

The Netflix streaming versions of Lexx are edited, but not extensively. I don't remember any of the story being cut, but for some reason the nudity was cut out, like Zev's shower scene. Not sure why. You can stream some awfully graphic movies on Netflix, so what's the point of an edited Lexx? :BigB:

I always thought of Kai as more of a cyborg. You know, part human, part machine. He has programming and circuitry. And I think in K-Town, when he's out of alignment, you can see what looks like computer code running through his eyes.

And don't be embarrassed, LastBrunnenGstanding. We're sci-fi/fantasy geeks. Knowing useless trivia is kind of the point of our existence. :c030a:

Definitely don't be embarrassed I grew up in the south around a few folks that dabbled in what we called 'roots'. A large part of 'roots' comes from the West Indies which includes a lot of 'beliefs' of African origin that is shared with Voodoo. So I kind of grew up knowing what a true 'zombie' is.

Hm... after all Kai has some parts of a vampire, too. He is a living dead, and after regaining his memory he can make descions on his own. He is unnatrurally strong an has an urgent desire of (proto)blood. Well, he has no fangs to get it, but when I think of Vlad...

Anyway - no matter what he is, he is one of the hottest livind Dead I've ever seen. Even hotter than Eric Northman! ... maybe this is because he alway keeps a certain distance to any offendance or sexual longings. He is somehow "unreachable" and that sometime makes me go crazy - I'd just tie him down somewhere and show him that "the dead do!" this and that. ;)

I hear you on that one he is hotter then Eric Northman lol.I like the whole mechanical feel he gives.I enjoy watching his systematic way of thinking which always end been right. I like how he can communicate with a stare and you know excatlty what he is saying with out saying a word lol. I like how he acts like his your shadow always looking out for you. The whole distance unreachable thing I agree with you. I think that reason is what makes him a chick magnet lol.

Oh yes! I could not have described it better! You can see him thinking and making decisions, see him thinking of all possibilities... and the point "saying without saying" -- yes! That's exactly what he often does. And a lot to Blue-Haired Zev. His face often has proven that he WAS thinking about her in whatever way. It came came up to me more than one time to give him a pat onto his back of his head so that he would not just end up in thinking but start over with "doing" ;)
Yeah, chick magnet ^-^ Like that! Positive :)

I believe it he is scary when he wants to be lol. That's awesome he won it two years in a row. I miss HBO no Vampers, werewolf, friary's, were panthers, and all the other crazy things that came out this summer. I saw two episodes on our stay at motel 6 and I was so lost :'( Erick and Kai are my cup of tea. Only with Erick I'd be more terrified to be left alone in the same room.....he might find me a tasty snack >.<"  Unless Kai is with me as my bodyguard to keep him in check. Then my dream would come true both dead guys hotties to myself hehehe drools. Have you seen that movie Straw Dogs? I haven't yet but he plays a psycho killer in this one a live person lol not a vamper which is scary.

Well if we are going to talk about 'real' vampires...
Bring on Don Henrie.  I mean he drinks blood and the whole 9 yards. doesn't hurt that he's hot too.

Cryopod on the right, coffin on the left.  Life would be good!

I like Eureka and Haven. I think they're on SciFi... honestly, ever since I ditched regular tv it's hard to keep track of what's what. All my tv watching is through Netflix and Amazon now. I tried Hulu, but they have commercials. Yuck.

I think the SciFi channel made the idiotic move to SyFy so that they could stop showing actual science fiction. Don't they play things like reality shows and wrestling now?

Lexx, Sliders, Tripping the Rift, Quantum Leap, Babylon Five, Earth Final Conflict all my old School Shows.

Currently I'm into Bedlam and some of the so called reality shows like Auction Hunters, Storage Wars and a lot of time spent on Food Network and Cooking Channel.

Eureka was a slower paced show. After I watched a few episodes I got use to it. It was fun.

I watch Sliders, when it was on TV, back in the day. I stopped watching it when Jerry O'Connell left. Saw it on netflix again and still couldn't get past that point.

A fun show is, Once Apon a Time, season 1 is on Netflix. I think ABC ordered season 2. We will see.

Oh! By the way. I read the reviews on THE LEXX as well as a few other shows. People write bad reviews because they can. I don't think these people even properly watch the shows they review.

If I were to be invited to a costume party attended by a group of female Lexx fans, I'd invest some real money in a Kai costume...
