basketballers, eh?  not my cup of earl grey, but can see how they'd stand out in a crowd.  I look to the tour de france for sports appreciation.  tight buns, killer legs and bike shorts.  filmed from behind ....

It's not mine either and I live here.  But then I'm good at antagonizing Texans.  Just dis the Spurs! You can call the Rio Grande a creek and the Alamo a dinky little shack and they will be angry, say one word against the Spurs and you have to run for your life!:ROADRAGE:

which has shit all to do with lexx :)

True, but didn't that Game on Gamestown kind of remind you of basketball?:bouncebig:
I can imagine the play by play on that one!

You forgot the most important part of all - New Zealand DREW with Slovakia~!~!~!~!~

It is the first goal we have ever scored in a world cup. It is still front page news several days later. I don't follow sports all that much but that was definitely an "omg" moment.

I sincerely hope it will come back. The beans didn't do much when it came to 'fleshing out' the Lexx universe... besides some info about the divine order and the brunnen-G, not a whole lot is known, so to me it always felt too 2-dimensional.

Lexx wouldn't be Lexx without the Lexx, but unfortunately its the whole, "look we have the most powerful destructive weapon in the two universes," schtick that was getting old. Beyond the Lexx, there isn't a show.

Prior the season 3 the episodes had a fairly spontaneous and random nature to them, the only persistent elements of the plot beyond His Divine Shadow and Mantrid.

If there was a spin-off of some kind, it would be a good opportunity to finally give the Lexx universe (or in this case, the Dark Zone) a much more broader, less mysterious character. After 4000 years, some of the anarchy may have died down, and there are no limits on possible antagonists or antagonistic factions to think of (in addition to Prince and co.).

The lack of a nearly impervious 1337 assassin could also make a spin-off more interesting, and it opens up a spotlight for a new hero character.

The chances of LEXX ever returning in any significant fashion are very, very remote.

As Brian has said on his forum, production companies with money to spend simply aren't interested in the property. While LEXX has a very dedicated fanbase, its a very small one, and that isn't the sort of things that studios tend to take risks on.

Plus, there's the matter of trying to get all the principals together again for another run, which is unlikely.

Even the attempt to get a comic-series off the ground ended up failing due to some behind-the-scenes strife, Both Brian and Jeff talked it up back in 2003, but the whole thing fell apart very quickly, and as the one tapped to illustrate the thing, it was a real shame for me to watch the whole thing get flushed the way it did.

Anyway, if it were to come back, I'd want it done right, and I think that's something that we could all agree on. If its gonna be half-assed, Brian and Jeff won't sign off on it, and the fans wouldn't go for that either.

So, as stated earlier: its very unlikely. But with that said, just remember that its best not to say "never" :)

Yeah, but I still hold out feeble hope for it. :(

I'm hoping to get a small Lexx fan game off the ground eventually with the UDK, once I've made enough content to advertise it with on the UDK forum (unreal development kit, allows you to make games with the unreal engine 3 [Bioshock 2, Gears of War 2, etc]) I'm going to see if I can't put a small team together.

If this does come to fruition, hopefully it will generate at least interest in Lexx.

EDIT: The silver lining to Lexx collecting dust at least is that I am less likely to receive any cease and desist e-mails/letters :P

I don't think Brian would have any problem with someone wanting to make  up their own little game and pass it around, but anything that would be commercially marketed would need copyright authorization and BD is VERY adamant about making sure people know about that ahead of time as to not waste money and time on Lexx project that will never get off the ground.

Any company wanting to help you make a game will need a signed release from the owner of the intellectual property giving you authorization to make this game. Just a head's up. Several people have tried to rip off Lexx for their own profit over the years, and Brian was instrumental in making sure that didn't happen.

No one is trying to talk you out of it, but folks who are fans of a show usually don't realize the extent of copyright infringement and or financial renumeration that goes hand in hand with producing an item that's actually owned by someone else.

I wouldn't think of doing that  haha, it will definitely be non-commercial.

Yeah I wouldn't expect it from the owner/s of Lexx, but some companies are very anal about fans making non-commercial games derived from their products, or even just misc. fan content (Nintendo, Cyan Worlds, etc).

I'm glad there is someone looking out for Lexx on the legal front, perhaps in the future me and him could talk about a more official game (yes, I know, unrealistic expectations) :P I would love to work on a project that had a story penned by the beans.

Good theory, unfortunately the Beans themselves don't really keep in contact with each other. Brian still talks to Paul D, but apparently he rarely if ever talks to Jeff and Lex G hasn't talked to any of them in years. I still get emails from Lex G from time to time, but he's currently not working in the film industry, so how a project would come up is pure conjecture.

I'm sure Brian would love to see a Lexx game to play, he's always up for something fun. He doesn't however, have the rights to Lexx, but he does look out for the property, even though it's currently owned by an evil Canadian corporation that doesn't want to develop any future pro-jects on it...

Obviously His Divine Shadow won after all, hehehe..

His Divine Shadow has retired to Boca Raton, currently nursing a beer gut from all the pabst blue ribbon.  Rumor has it he has carpal tunnel from channel surfing too much, and he lives with a room mate named Morty who is tired of having to watch the mating ritual of the fruit fly on National Geographic.   You just try changing the channel on His Divine Shadow....
