I loved her in Buffy, but haven't seen much of what she did outside of that.  She's also in a couple of Jack Black videos on google that are hilarious.  Did anyone see her in the Grudge movies?

Grudge 1 was ok, if your a desparate SMG fan, otherwise I dont know that I really cared about it.  Grudge 2 has somebody else as I understand it,  Amber Tamblin? plays SMG's sister, and I guess Sarah has a minor role, but that the movie is alleged to be better than the first, don't know, Im not going to pay to see it.

Movies I have seen her in besides BUFFY: Cruel Intentions, Harvard Man, Scooby Doo 1 & 2 (Monsters Unleased), The Grudge

Movies I have Not seen her in: Simply Irrisistable, The Grudge 2

But she gonna get kinda close to home in "THE RETURN", in theaters this coming Friday:

:boots3:

"The Return is focused on a 25 year-old woman named Joanna Mills (Sarah Michelle Gellar), a Midwesterner who has strange nightmares about a woman who died 15 years ago. After going to the town of La Salle, Texas for a job promotion, Joanna soon discovers that it is related to the nightmares she has been having along with a farmhouse and a man who seems to be making Joanna his next target."

per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Return_(2006_film)
[Sarah is 29, btw, still playing younger roles. Hey -I saw a pic of her in Cowboy boots - Yeh Haww!! ~~ I can find "La Salle" County, 2 counties away from me, but can't seem to find the Town.]

A word on BUFFY DVDs, someone seems to have decided Americans only get the "Fullscreen" version, but I found out that the show was filmed in "Widescreen" in Seasons 4-7. Wide is better so I had to purchase sets from overseas, where they get the freedom to choose from both versions. I ended up with Season 4 from Australia, Season 5 from the UK, and Seasons 6 & 7 from China. Now that's something to Grrrrrrr! Arrrggghhhh!!!! about! :c030a:

"Someone" as I recall, was Joss Whedon.  I used to frequent the buffy newsgroups, and the Sky cable copies were abundant, all widescreen.  When the DVDs came out finally, there was a ruckas bout  the aspect ratio, and Joss stated that it was filmed wide, but it was edited full screen and he was editor, so there.  Before the DVDs came out, i enjoyed a wide version of Beer Bad, really a funny episode.  Cant argue with Joss, but  seems like wide screen is pretty cool.

Relic Hunter, actually, is what got me started on ebay....go figure.  I found a few of those widescreen versions, and am really pissed that fireworks or whoever wont distribute it in region 1.  I paid in advance for the DVDs, and instead they released a crappy "best of" DVD.  The few eps i found were in widescreen and seemed pretty cool to me.

Hopefully soon there is a shift to one format, most people dont realize that "letterbox" is garbage, and "anomorphic" is pure.

There is a beautiful photo of SMG now on the cover of Marie Claire mag....i just picked one up at a Safeway grocery store.  The content is poor, there is an ok interview with Sarah.  The cover is collectable quality in my opinion though.

I love Cruel Intentions...I mean, that wet kiss with Selma....oooooh.  Scooby was goofy, but actually i like Linda Cardallini a whole damn lot, so Scooby was dissapointing but nice to see Linda and Sarah at least.

You liked Relic Hunter too?  I caught it when ever I could, great show, but I don't think I ever saw all of the episodes.

I spent Thanksgiving Day afternoon with my family, but I spent that evening with Sarah Michelle Gellar and watched her new movie "THE RETURN". A short review is that I liked it very much. It is a rather mild supernatural thriller, but by no means a horror story like her GRUDGEs.

Sarah as Joanna plays a top-notch sales rep for a company out of St. Louis who has avoided doing sales in Texas until this one time, due to a traumatic event in her childhood. She has disturbing dreams and day-visions of memories of a life that is not hers, of a woman that was murdered fifteen years earlier. Once in Texas her visions become more detailed and more vivid even causing her blackouts as she is reliving those like memories. After her successful business venture that brought her back home, her visions compel her to visit La Salle, a very small out-of-the-way rural town out there somewhere in the wild Texas boondocks, where she finds the bar and everything inside it is real, exactly like her visions. Poking around gets her noticed and she discovers the husband of the murdered woman, who coincidentally visits La Salle for the first time in years, but works at a Cattle Auction in LULING (so La Salle must be very nearby?). She has vision/memories of the original appearance of the killer, who looks different now 15 years later, but which one is he? Her visions lead her to the long-hidden murder weapon and she must discover and at the same time avoid the killer before he can get close to her.

Sarah has very dark hair as Joanna and isn't playing Buffy, and there are scenes of her frightened and on the run. (Most disturbing - makes me can't wait until she plays Alice and gets on the right end of that ole' butcher knife!!!!) Near the end, the film suggests where Joanna may have gotten those memories as a child on a dark late night drive with her father on a deserted country road near La Salle (-well, almost nearly deserted).

EDIT: AFTERTHOUGHTS: Besides Sarah Michelle Gellar's haunting performance, something else has been haunting the back of my mind ever since I first heard of this movie. Something XENIA

In "LEXX CHAT WITH XENIA SEEBERG MARCH 14, 2005" still posted over at LEXXFANS, Xenia is quoted as saying:

[4] <mmlover> mayaXXX ยป 'Xenia: When are you coming to Texas and can the fans be on the set like in Fluffdaddy?
[4] <gela> maya: (laughs) like I said, I hope to be in texas for the movie in july... if everything goes well, on the set? that depends on the production, I don't the production yet, so I don't know, probably yes

"THE RETURN" started filming in March 2005 and finished filming in July 2005.

Extremely Very Coincidental Timing and Location!!!! Did Sarah get Xenia's role, possibly because of something related to Xenia coming down with the Egyptian Flu and its aftermath (mummy all wrapped up)?

Is "THE RETURN" the un-named movie Xenia was referring to in that LEXX chat?

This of course detracts nothing from Sarah's superb performance, but I pause a moment to wonder what it would have been like to have seen Xenia as THE ONE walking down those country roads wearing those cowboy boots????
