Hello all. Long time Lexxverse visitor, but Im only now registered after having cleared up some e-mail problems.

Im a HUGE lexx fan. I didn't start watching lexx until season 4 and then, like a lot of people, went back and watched everything from the beginning.

FUNNY STORY: I live in Halifax, N.S. where a lot of the series was filmed at electropolis studios. In fact, little to my knowledge, in the late 90's when I was a teen, the apartment where we lived was just a short drive away from that studio. I didnt watch or know what lexx was back then, but if I did I certainly would have tried to go down and work on the show to some capacity or at least visit the place like Bart routinely visits the Krsusty the clown studio.

I hit myself all the time for not knowing about Lexx back then. I was just a short drive away from Xenia Seeberg, in the flesh, and I didnt even know it. Sigh.

Anywho, I've read just about everything on this site over the last year but was unable to register due to technical difficulties. Have a new laptop now, so that's all fixed.

My favorite episodes are Brigadoom and Gondola. These are two of the few exclusively dramatic episodes with no real sexual or humorous elements. I love all lexx but prefer the serious episodes like in S3.

Welcome to the boards, I'd kick myself too if I didn't know of Lexx being made around the corner!

Welcome to Lexxverse, SGC4.

Oh but to have been so close yet so far because you hadn't watched the show back then is a big ouch!  Unfortunately everything is gone now.  I wish I could have gone to the big sale they had of props and such several years back, but it was a little bit too expensive to fly to Hali for a yard sale.

Enjoy your time here!

Is that really the case?...or did you sit it out once you found out the codpiece wasn't on the auction block?  Mind you, you're under oath...

Well I know the codpiece never made it to auction, because I know what unfortunately happened to it.......

Some one mention codpiece, Shhhhhh

Welcome to the board SCG4.

I know just how you feel sort of. I was right pissed when I found out about the filming of Lexx in Battersea Power station, as I don't live far from that place. Back then I did not know Angel and co and the UK fanclub was just run for the people who ran it, no names mentioned. By the time I found out it was too late:(

More like smokin' rods..

One of my favorite props was the chess game board that Michael and Nigel played on in Iceland.  It looked like they had way too much fun demolishing it.

Securityguardclass4, my first thought when reading how you "would have tried to go down and work on the show" was that you might not have a grip on reality - until I watched your video "American Idiot." Well done! Perhaps you will be instrumental in making the next great show!

Thanks for checking out the channel. I've got lots more vids on the way. :2567:

I still can't believe I missed a chance to see Xenia in the flesh. :(

It's like when Homer was going to meet Mr.T at the mall. He said he'd go a little later, then a little later, and then when he went, the mall guy said Mr.T had just left.

Just watched your fanvids and they're fantastic! You did a very good job of editing to match up scenes to the words. I laughed several times during American Idiot, so fitting for President Priest.

Hi Securityguardclass4;

Great to see another "local" Lexxian online. I'm actually in Fredericton, but get down to Halifax a few times per year.

It's too bad about your late start on Lexx. I actually got to see a presentation on Lexx (by Lex and Paul) at the Maritime Science Fiction Festival. This was when they were still trying to sell the show. It was very interesting, but only attended by about 30 people.

Anyway, welcome!

Was searching around for a "Halifax" thread and this is the closest I got.

I was just wondering - are there any remnants of LEXX (the series) still evident in Halifax? What I mean is, is there anything, anywhere in town, that acknowledges or commemorates the show? It was produced by Salter Street, which I believe has been gobbled up by Alliance. I assume the studios still stand - is there anything to see there? Any props or artwork on display anywhere? I'm assuming not, but just wondering if any locals might know of any tenuous connection to this show that can still be seen in Halifax?

Hell, even if some local pub had a photo of the cast on its wall, I'd go see that! :D

Like I said, just wondering. I'll be visiting Halifax in September and was curious if there was anything LEXX-related to see there.

The local restaurant/bar that the cast and crew hung out at was called 'The Economy Shoe Shop'. Sadly, they had a local yard sale of lexx stuff after the show ended, plus Figdress selling it on ebay afterwards, so the only way to get something now is if someone sells it.

It's just a few blocks from where I'm staying, so I'll check it out one day.

Kinda vanished from here the last couple of weeks. I head to Halifax in a couple of days. Will definitely seek out the Economy Shoe Shop Cafe, and who knows what else!

Gone for another week. Regular review thread to resume shortly thereafter. Promise! :)

Czeh, I strongly suspect I err in supposing I might need to mention it, but if suitable lighting and subject matter were to present themselves while you were visiting The Economy Shoe Shop, it would be extremely cool if you were able to snap some pictures to share with us.

Looks like a neat place and would have been - I think - one of the early business establishments to take on a dual role as an art gallery. I read their environmental policy page (http://economyshoeshop.ca/shoe/?page_id=547) and thought of an erstwhile employer of mine which gave lip service to the same laudable goals but only because of the government contracts they could thereby attain. I'm guessing the cafe on the other hand is a thoroughbred entity in that regard.

Looking forward to the continuation of your review thread.
