It all started with BALTAR opening to SIX, who opened the Defense Ministry's doors for the wholesale slaughter of all the Colonies of Kobol.

The Story So Far:

The human population hovered at just under 50,000 for 2 Seasons, constantly on the run. After finding Athena's Tomb on the planet Kobol and entering, they found the clues which pointed the way to finding Earth, a planet where the symbols of all 12 colonies appeared in the night sky -as constellations, along with a known nebula. (They would just have to play with their star charts in the computer for awhile, looking for combinations where the conditions existed.)

Season 2. With the arrival of the PEGASIS, they discovered the first other colonial ship since the war. Baltar was asked to examine their cylon prisoner, a copy of SIX. Baltar subsequently released her resulting in her executing Admiral Cain (at Baltar's suggestion and blessing even). (In Memoriam, Admiral Cain below, center - the pretty one!)

Baltar ran for President at SIX's insistance. His first act when he won was to order the fleet to colonize a newly discovered planet  hidden in a Nebula, thinking they were safe, dubbed "New Caprica". (Former president Roslin was fearful for any diversion but to continue on their way to Earth. Overruled by Baltar.)

Baltar hid the copy of SIX that had been present on the PEGASIS, on the luxery ship "CLOUD 9", and bought her support and trust, by giving her a Nuke. (But the dummy just had to sleep with her, crossing up her pretty little circuitry, then tell her he cannot see her anymore.) In orbit around "New Caprica", she sets off the nuke, blowing the ship up along with her and her new found heart-ache.

Season 3. The Cylon Fleet arrives and Galactica and the Fleet with maybe 20,000 on board have to jump away, leaving everyone else behind. The Cylons who arrived with the original SIX he loved on Caprica told him they found them by the accidental discovery of traces of the detonation of a nuke. (BALTAR and a SIX again!!). By the Lords of Kobol if a few of the "human" cylons don't try to make love slaves out of a few humans.

Galactica and Pegasis jump in and coordinate a rescue with the human resistance and successfully flee New Caprica. Pegasis just as in the original series is lost flying between 2 Cylon Base Stars guns and missiles blazing, and destroying both.

So here we are, currently as of this post now at 41,000 survivors. Heading for Earth. :fear2:

Do they finally make it to earth? More importantly, do we want them to?

(Like my review? No?...  Your turn...)

The result would be roughly the same:fear2: I'd rather take my chances with Stan, Kai, & Xev over the Cylons:D

We might not actually have to worry about that after all. In the last episode, Baltar had sent a Cylon Base Star out to check on that nebula seen in Athena's Tomb, and they caught a virus from a satellite probe they brought on board. The rest of the Cylon fleet kept their distance and even moved their resurrection ship out of range, and let all the Cylons on the Base Star die. (Some form of 'encephalytis' I think I heard them say on board the Galactica when they discovered the dead Base Star.)

If they do come here, then they will all Die here!
:s010a:
("War of the Worlds" syndrome.)

That is, if Baltar's doesn't fry their circuits first! Get that scene where he is being repeatedly tortured by that ex-Xena Lucifer (hey-original series!) Lawless trying to get a confession from Baltar that he deliberately sent the Base Star to their deaths on purpose. While at the same time the Number SEX of his dreams is making severe love to him in his fantasy world trying to keep him from disintegration. Still halfway in his dream world he looks at Lucifer Lawless and passionately says "I Love You!". That look on her face!!! (PRICELESS!!!)

This evening's third season finale is a must-see episode! They have promised to reveal who is one of the last five Cylon models, -who is and had been all along a sleeper Cylon agent, and it has been suggested it may be one of the major cast, maybe even Adama himself.

We expect Baltar's trial to come to an end, but don't really expect to see him thrown out of an airlock, do we now? He supplies so much of the rift in the series that they just can't get rid of him without having to bring on Bob Villa and turning the show into a dry how to build a home in space series!

One of the repeating questions in every episode now is: "Is Starbuck really gone, or is she just taking some sack-off time?" It looked to me that she surely must have flown through the "Eye of Jupiter" (wormhole?). They repeatedly had said that the "Eye of Jupiter" would point the way to EARTH. (Just to even imagine that the Red spot on Jupiter was a Great big CYLON EYE watching us!!!!!)

What can the next Season 4 possibly have in store?? If they find their way to EARTH in Season 4, they might as well mirror LEXX!! How many more twists and turns could they possibly take and still keep viewers glued to their seats, if they continue to stay 'Lost In Space' playing "Hide and Seek", and chased by Cylons?? That already seems to have gotten old. Bring on the Keystone Cops already!! Look Ma - no other alien civilizations out there anywhere to come between Man and Machine!! No Klingons, Vorlons, Romulans, Empiracle Entanglements or Federations to STARCRASH with! All that Space just being a Great Big Empty Vacuum Suxx and Suxxx and Suxxxx to NO END!! :xdiablo:

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA's Season 4 is right around the corner and might be it's last season, further confirming the idea that if a space series comes to Earth - IT's FINISHED!

Last time at the end of last Season 3, we saw Kara 'Starbuck' fly out of nowhere to return and tell Apollo that's she's been to Earth, that everything will be O.K. and that she will take them there. (What exactly she has been doing on Earth seems to show up in the BIONIC WOMAN where she plays the first and very bad bionic woman who the New One must confront and deal with several times. 'Kara' has as bad an attitude as ever as on the Galactica and as a bionic is almost like a superior form of Cylon leaping across tall buildings, knocking people for hundreds of feet and all. I bet 'Number 6' would be so jealous of all that capability!!! Human-form Cylons on the Galactica series are such cute little pussy-cats by comparison!)

Anyways...

Next Saturday evening, November 24th in the US, the Sci-Fi Channel will air BATTLESTAR GALACTICA RAZOR which some of us may have seen on previews on TV.

It is described by the Internet Movie Database website as:

"A two-hour Battlestar Galactica special that tells the story of the Battlestar Pegasus several months prior to it finding the Galactica."

Whereas at the Sci-Fi Channel page it is described as:

"The special two-hour episode "Razor", which will serve as a backdrop for the events of season four of Battlestar Galactica, tells the story of Lee Adama's first mission as the commander of the battlestar Pegasus — and the harrowing tale of that ship's desperate fight for survival in the immediate aftermath of the Cylon's genocidal siege of the Twelve Colonies.

Lee Adama's new XO, Major Kendra Shaw, is plagued by memories of her service and sacrifices under Admiral Helena Cain, who was able to save her ship during the Cylon attack — but only by making Shaw and her fellow officers rationalize suicidal battle tactics and brutal war crimes against their own people.

In the crucible of war, Shaw must let her hesitation and doubts burn away, until all that remains of her is the honed edge of a living human weapon — what Colonial veterans call "a razor." But an edge so fine cuts in more than one direction. It can cleave an enemy to pieces … or it can carve away a person's soul."

Seems almost like incompatible descriptions but at any rate our very favorite and beautiful Admiral Helena Cain is back!!! (Yummie! Yummie! Sugar Mommie!) She may be cold as ice cream but is still as sweet! Her prescence alone should make the Day! :P:s010a:

Kinda short notice I know, but I've been out near the rim of the Galaxy for a bit, but tomorrow evening BATTLESTAR GALACTICA will have 2- half-hour specials on the Sci-Fi Channel - "BG REVEALED" and "BG-THE PHENOMENON" at 9-10 CST and repeating at Midnite CST. The show itself begins it's 4TH and FINAL Season next Friday. FOUR SEASONS like LEXX. Will they come to Earth and make peace with the Cylons, or have the Cylons been playing them just so they can Nuke to TOTAL OBLIVION the last and Final Colony of Humans?? (I have seen a preview where they almost tease us as to where Starbuck "really" went, maybe not to Earth??)

At any rate at the very end of the last Episode last year, Starbuck came out of nowhere just as a huge Cylon attack was about to begin, and the latest round of Cylon "sleepers" aboard the Galactica was revealed:

It's going to be O.K. I have been to Earth - I know where it is. I will take us there.

and the show ended zooming all the way out past the 2 fleets, even beyond the galaxies, then zooming back in to the final image of the very last show just before End Credits:

Kinda looks like ...?

A Final Warning given by the old man in the tub in the Cylon Base Ship from the December special mini-movie "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: RAZOR"

Rub-a-dub-dub the ole man in the tub says:

"Kara Thrace may lead the human race to it's End...

She is the Herald of the Apocalypse...

the Harbinger of Death!

They must NOT follow her!"

(But his message was jammed by his fellow Cylons and noone heard, then the Base Ship went pulsar - "All this has happened before... and All this will happen again." - [Time prophet? - is that You??] ).[/divine shadow]

For all you lucky people that don't have to work next week, the SciFi Channel is playing an all-week marathon of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, apparently most all of the episodes from the beginning. So if you missed anything you can catch up with it all, --unless you have to work like I do. :(

At any rate when they finally arrive here on Earth, you think there is a good chance the Naive People of Earth will give an upgraded and improved model Number 6A opportunities to gain widespread acceptance?

(Mommy - Can I please have one for Christmas???):d020a::partytime2:

Ahoy Maties! Been a while since I last updated the Tale of Man vs Machine. This here below contains **** SPOILERS!!! **** so if ye be fainthearted or do not wish the Tale tainted, -Walk the Plank now! But if ye be brave and strong of heart - Read On!

:fear2:

Tonight's episode "REVELATIONS" was labeled as a "Mid-Season Finale". So no more new episodes for a spell. A quick recap leading up to tonight:
It was inevitable that if the Galactica could hold off the Cylons long enough, that the ex-toasters would break down and go into a Great Civil War amongst themselves. The war of the "2"s, "6"s and "8"s (-the Rebels), against the "1"s, "4"s and "5"s apparently took off following the canning of the "3"s model, the "Deanna's" played by none other than Xena's Lucy Lawless. The reason given was she had gazed upon the "Final 5" in a vision and knowing them was forbidden so she was canned along with her knowledge. Starbuck was sent out by Adama to search for Earth but instead found a last remaining damaged Rebel Cylon Base Star and took it over, teamed up with the Cylon leader "6" and rejoined the fleet, but not after causing quite a commotion and freakin' shocking panick when the Base Star jumped right into the middle of the Colonial Fleet while a malfunction delayed the accompanying Raptor by a few minutes, and having no way to communicate until it arrived. Almost fireworks!

The Rebel Cylons sought after the "Final 5" sleeper cylons among the Galactica, and it seemed everyone believed those 5 knew the way to Earth. In exchange for those 5, a joint mission was arranged to attack and destroy the Great Cylon Xerox machine where cylons were resurrected and reborn but was in control of the rebels enemies, so when the rebels died they really died and did not come back. Destroying the Central Hub resurrection ship would render all Cylons everywhere mortal. Quite attractive to the Colonial Fleet as well. But before the mission was officially launched President Roslin went aboard the Base Star to speak with the cylon "hybrid" that ran the ship about dreams she was having that the hybrid knew about - but it had been unplugged. Back on the Galactica the rebel leader "6" on her way to Adama to work out joint mission details was ambushed and killed by Colonial cylon Boomer because she was jeoulous and overprotective about her baby-boomer's obsession with the "6"s and was also having those same dreams as Roslin in the 'Opera House' but hers centered around the 6 taking her child away. So - Bang! Bang! and one less 6 in the universe. Meanwhile back on the Base Ship they plug the hybrid back in, it immediately detects the death her Imperious Leader so the hybrid makes the Base Star jump away -taking Roslin and half the Colonial warriors with them. And jump and jump.

Repeatedly jumping towards the Central Hub Resurrection Ship, the rebel Base Star and humans resolve to follow through with their plan to destroy it, but first to carry off the one Deanna "3" that was awakened by their enemy cylons who were attempting to use her to end the cylon war. The human and rebel cylon's joint mission goes according to plan. President Roslin arranges to see Deanna alone to find out who the sleeper cylons were in the fleet and is answered with "You don't know that you are one of them?" and Deanna breaks out into laughter at the look in Roslins face. It was a rare uncommon outburst of Cylon humour (as far as we know it was only a joke!).

As the Cylon Base Star reaches the fleet, Deanna secretly makes plans to re-take over the centurians and regains control of the Base Star and takes over as the new Cylon Leader. The humans are now hostages to be in exchanged for the "Final 4" that Deanna says are aboard the Galactica. (Yes - " Final 4" now.) Deanna though a "3" is in no way half a "6" but displays the quality and authority of many multiples of "6", in complete control and sounding very much like Xena Warrior Princess in her bad old evil Warlord days, gone to total Red Queen (except they permitted her to speak in her native Auckland New Zenaland accent), -and she looks very lovely as a blond. As she executed one hostage and threatened to execute the remaining hostages while acting President Lee Adama counters threatening to send 3 of the final cylons out the airlocks, the situation approaches the brink of nuclear mutual genocide.

Starbuck raced to find something about her showroom brand new shiny Viper she that she had returned from Earth in (re: - earlier last season episodes where she returned blacked out and with very little memory in a Viper everyone had sworn they saw blow up, but she swears she had been to earth and came back with some photos but no one believed her.). In the cockpit of her Viper she found a signal from earth that only her Viper could receive. The standoff backed down and the rebel Cylons and humans reached an accord and agreed to proceed to Earth -together.

They follow the transmission and reach Earth. The Constellations match and they confirm they are in Earths orbit. Together humans and cylon rebels walk on Earth and the camera pans among their disappointed expressions on their faces. Then pans over to show you what they were looking at. A panorama that looks like THE LEXX had been there first for target practice. Toasted!! Blackened earth. Half- burried and charred structure remains. Across the ways the resemblance of the remains of a destroyed city, blackened desolate and in ruins. End credits. (The mood they give is the feeling this is must be the fate of the entire planet. Luckily there great numbers of "6"s and "8"s among the cylon rebels to assist with repopulating. (grin!) But then again, as we all well know with cliff-hangers looks can be deceiving - maybe they just landed in a big garbage dump. Half of Season 4 remains yet to be. Perhaps they might even be about to take a spin off from the original series - "The War of the Gods?" ??? And still unanswered is the question posed earlier by President Roslin - who is the 5th cylon of the "Final 5"?

EWWW the planet really was toasted pretty good. I was trying to make out any landmarks to tell where they had landed but couldn't really identify anything. It'll be an interesting 2nd half of the season. I wonder what the circumstances were that caused all the destruction. Possibly the beginning of the war with the Cylons centuries ago?
