I'm fine as is every one I know.  I was just shocked when I was watching TV last night and this came on the local breaking news.  I live about 20 minutes away from the bridge and have been over it several times in the past, but thankfully I don't go that way for work.  (And I was just over that bridge last week). Other than tornados, this is the worst tragedy I've seen hit this state.  There are cars trapped under the bridge pieces face down in the water, I imagine so many more people have died that are in the river they have yet to discover.  I feel so sad for everyone this is affecting, and am still in shock that this has happened.  On the local news this morning the said the infrastructure of the bridge only got a 50% rating in 2005 and still had problems last year, but they hadn't done anything to address repairs, they were only doing surface roadwork on the bridge, fixing potholes, etc.....when this happened.  It was a bridge 200,000 people used every day and this happened during rush hour, so it was bumper to bumper traffic, so I know the bridge had many cars on it in both directions.  I can only hope and pray that by some miracle more people are alive.

I am glad you are ok Angel.  When I got to work last night and saw what had happened I thought about you but then saw you had posted so I knew you were fine.  But this has been such a huge disaster that there was rolling coverage of it internationally.  Such a tragedy and still more to come today... I am glad I will be sleeping and not have to watch any more of the heart wrenching scenes.   My heart goes out to all those that have loved ones still missing or were injured or killed. But I am extremly greatful that you are ok Angel darling.

I heard about it on the radio on my way home last night. It took me several attempts to connect to your cell number Angie, but when I saw you post I know you were ok. I feel so terrible for the people on that bridge and their families. How awful.

Thank you guys for your care and concern, it is greatly appreciated to know how much you all care.  Chessie, I usually don't have my cell on unless I'm calling out or expecting a call, on the local news they were telling everyone to stay off cell phones if it wasn't absolutely necessary because the system was getting overloaded.  I did talk to Maya and Ketana last night on my home phone about what happened.   When I got to work, I talked to one guy who takes that bridge to and from work every day, he had just stopped at the grocery store and went home and was over that bridge 7 minutes before it happened, needless to say he was quite shaken up over it today.  Now they are calling it a recovery mission instead of a rescue mission. :089:

I've just seen this on the bbc website. I'm glady you and your family are ok Angel. My heart goes out to all those still trapped and hurt.

It looks just like Earthquake damage, but as we know it's not.
