Im sure you are all sick of people speculating on a Lexx Season 5 or a Spin-Off series but what would you do to persuade those "in power" to resurrect Lexx?

Well....I think you don´t have to persuade those in power...you have to persuade the actors first....
If the actors aren´t willing to continue their roles....I´m afraid I can´t think about persuading those in power....Lexx wouldn´t be Lexx anymore without Brian, michael and Xenia as Stan, kai and Xev.

Or you have to create a real spin off without the original crew....

But if I only have to persuade the peeps in power....well, what about a Billion Dollar fund? Think that´s what they would accept :D

Lexx has been over for so long and the rights to it have changed hands twice, that it was difficult even for the actors to get anything done with the big corporations controlling the rights.

My opinion I love lexx as it was, it was created by Paul Donovan who had a great imagination, along with the other Beans, and anyone that comes along at this point to try and *recreate* anything would just be a pale imitation of the true geniuses of Lexx.  And as Aenea said, I couldn't see anyone else playing in their roles as well, because they made the roles such a part of them.   How do you copy an original?

I see people out there putting spins on it that they want to create a *new* Lexx, have scripts, graphic stories and what not.  But what they are really doing is plagiarizing an original concept and idea created by Paul Donovan.  In essence it could never be their creation, so any stories they write about Lexx are just fan fictions.

it would be like a pale imitation. IMO. but if it were possible, with the original cast and creativity then go for it. try..no harm in trying but again IMO kai lunch boxes? lexx keychains? trite, common and besides in a few years I could just see that stuff in the dollar bin at walmart and that would just be sad.

Well this is my 2 cents and y'all can take it or ignore it, whichever...:D

Ah where to begin. In the beginning, I would have been the first person to want to continue Lexx and enjoy the series. season 5 or whatever...HOWEVER..

There is a faction out there, that has decided that they're the only ones 'worthy' enough to bring Lexx back, in whatever diluted, degraded or decomposed version they want, and that's soured me on any kind of reunion of the show and it's cast members.

The reason it's squicked me out, is because the folks behind it are the most reprehensible, disreputable, and vicious people  I"ve ever seen in any form of Fandom, and I've seen this kind of thing for over 20 years.  Never have I seen such outlandish lies and blatant disregard for the cast members and the fans. It's gotten to the point that in order to accomplish their goals, they've decided that the end justifies the means, and they've taken to even accusing folks behind their backs of felonies and other crimes, in order to get people into their 'faction'. I recently found out that this faction told people that I actually BLACKMAILED someone in the cast to 'get my way'  to have them post against them on a post on their own board.

So you'll have to excuse me if I don't sound too enthusiastic on a redux of Lexx. I think Paul was right, Lexx should stay the way it was, at least then it was pure and not contaminated by the likes of these psychotic fans that think anything they do is ok as long as it gets them what they want. Unfortunately for them, it's not going to happen.

HEY folks. You're over. Put a fork in you, you're done. You have NO hope of EVER dealing with Lexx cast members again. Your machinations have revealed your true nature. I advise you to plague the Johnny Depp fandom for awhile, you'll find people there that will eat you for lunch. The reason I know this is because they're alot of ex-Lexx fans over there....

Oh, and try and figure out the 'message' I'm sending you in my emoticons...

Well, since hollywood is on a recycling binge (a big budget Transformers anyone?) It is only a matter of time (five or six years???) before there is some (completely re-cast) movie. One thing that was neat about lexx was the excessive amounts of special effects. That could definitely be carried further on the big screen. Someone could simply re-make the first movie, or compress part of the series into a movie. It kinda worked for hitchiker's guide.

For the cast members of the original-- I would just be happy to see the main three, especially Michael, in more stuff.

Nope, never going to happen. Lexx was never mainstream enough to inspire a 'Hollywood' version of itself on the big screen. The SFX that it used for the time, (90's) were pretty good because alot of it was filmed in Germany, but to do that today would cost too much to make it worth their while.

Lexx never was and never will be a commercial mainstream product. Simply because the writing and concept was very quirky and quirky just doesn't sell in mainstream TV or films. The'd never be able to get the kind of audience they'd need to justify the astronomical expense unless they just completely revamped the show, which would mean killing the very thing that makes us love it. A commercial Lexx would not be the show we know, and they'd might as well just do a whole different show and use the Lexx name, since it would bear no resemblance to the original.

As for the actors, a fewof them say they'd do a redone version if a good script came along, but the reality is, alot of that is just a little publicity hype. Don't bank on that, folks change their minds, sometimes daily, in the case of one of the more reclusive members, hehe.

Part of me would love to see more Lexx - only provided that the characters are played by the same actors - but not a sequel, because it was concluded so well and the writers (& actors) are so clear that the integrity of the show would be compromised if there was an attempt to revive it purely for commercial reasons, ignoring the story arc & the narrative structure... but, as I've said in another thread, part of me would love to see a ...um sort of side-quel (? is there a term?) (excuse me for quoting myself...it's just idleness, not to have to type it out... plus, I am still getting the weird jumpy effect , BTW)

I consider that the Beans did a wonderful job of painting a picture of what life was like on the Cluster in a few scenes - but nevertheless would have loved to see a little more, particularly more about Bioviziers & the processes involved in creating Divine Assasins & Executioners. Perhaps some weird & gory scenes in the Biochambers (with, of course, an unclothed Kai) & I would be interested to see Mantrid & Brizon at work and find out how Brizon survived/escaped the Cleansing & how Mantrid was exiled.
And finally, I would have liked to see more of Kai as an Assassin, going about the Light Universe being absolutely evil & deadly...

However, I would be quite apprehensive about what would be done with it - and by whom....particularly since the rights seem to be all over the place & there are lots of grabby people about.

(We are lucky that the Dr Who revival has been spearheaded by passionate fans - and that is ten thousand times more mainstream than Lexx. I think your last post was right, maya  :()

Ok, stop with the operations of mass destruction. Besides I'm still smarting from those sheers! I'd like to see just a mini series of perhaps one or two episodes that made the whole Lexx saga come full circle. Perhaps, the baby Lexx is really the original as a baby. As the baby gets bigger Stan and Xev find it. Then, another one of those Lyekka plants come by and scans Xev and has a present for her, a Kai.

Well we were VERY lucky, (not like alot of fans of Scifi shows) that Lexx actually ended on it's own terms. All the loose ends were tied up, Kai got his deepest desire, to die in service to humankind, and Stanley and Xev realized they were better teamed as family instead of otherwise, and the Lexx finally got it's well earned rest as well. I think it went out on a high note and anything else would just be a rehash of everything we've already seen. I think someone said that you shouldn't keep hoping to catch lightning in a bottle more than once....

Now if they'd bring back Firefly......:c030a:

Lexx fans are also lucky in that the Lexx cast are willing to interact with the fans of the show. Unlike many other scifi show's cast members. Lexx cast have direct contact with their fans when they are at cons and on message boards.

If Hollywood ever got hold of Lexx, well it would be ruined.

And as for the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy that was complete let down for me. Talk about rewrite nearly the whole book.

Can I just vote to have them replay the series so that we have something to look foward to on Sci-fi again?
