as a part time, and not especially committed, dabbler in geekdom, I once went to a star trek convention (I know) to point and laff at the fanpeeps in dressup. while there I had the good fortune to meet Michael Dorn, who happened to play my favourite TNG character, Worf. an interesting man, possessed of a sparkling intellect and a fine sense of humour, not to mention a voice like deep velvet and honey.
point is, meeting him had no adverse effects on my affection for The Big Klingon :p. it was a discrete event, for want of a better descriptive. and I enjoy meeting the soul behind the music I love, so I guess it wouldn't be too much different.
but (finally) to answer the op. zip. I'm also resident of a lexxless land, so no likelihood of meeting these fine thesps any time soon. having said that, we may not be lexxless for too much longer. one of my careers involves networking with large numbers of filmies, and I've managed to convert a couple already. these two will undoubtedly go on to convert more, and so it may well go on.
further, we have world scifi convention happening here in september 2010, so who knows. we may be a lexxland by then, and the cast/beans might see fit to attend. that'd be very cool
I would pay them $1000 each as that's all I could afford, in return, I would require they provide me with about 20 hours a week for 9-12 weeks for some on screen work. I would get some of my film buddies who I know to help me do some green screen work, and do everything against a green screen. Then release it on the internet. For this time, I would most certainly pay :>
It depends on what country I will be in at that moment. . If I’m in Chicago and the meeting place is in another city I’ll go there and I’ll buy a ticket if it has a reasonable price. But I won’t fly to another country. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in his outstanding "The little prince" wrote fabulous words: You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. I don’t know a single person who doesn’t know this, so…so, these people created something that will live long after its creators’ deaths and I do believe that those who tamed so many hearts are responsible for these hearts.
However, if I’m not mistaken there was never such an event where all of the cast members presented?
