I forgot to mention that Patricia Zentilli is nominated in the categorie:

"Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role".

She played Brooke Ashton/Vicki in "Noises Off" at the ATF last year.

So, Nigel didn't get an Award for himself, but the ATF production Noises Off - which he directed - has received four Merritt Awards on monday night:

Actor in a Leading Role: Graham Percy

Actress in a Supporting Role: Patricia Zentilli

Set Design: Neil Peter Jampolis

Costume Design: Patrick Clark

"This is wonderful. It is such a good thing that we were nominated at all," Nigel Bennett said when he accepted the costume award on behalf of Patrick Clark.

"Nigel Bennett is six feet tall, has had five Merritt nominations and owns guns," said Burt (event host). "Now there's a triple threat I'm worried about."

"In many ways, the night belonged to our Nigel Bennett. As Artistic Director of the reborn Atlantic Theatre Festival, he took the stage to accept the four Merritts won by his production of Noises Off: for Outstanding Actor in a Leading Role (Graham Percy), Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role (Patricia Zentilli), Outstanding Set Design (Neil Peter Jampolis) and Outstanding Costume Design (Patrick Clark). Nigel himself was nominated for two awards: Outstanding Direction for Noises Off and Outstanding Actor in a Leading Role for his tremendous performance in Neptune’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? The man is definitely a force of nature!"
