Dude already saved the franchise twice. Holding out for the hat trick...


I really hope they'll bring it to regular television, rather than just digital subscription, been aching for a new series.

Fingers crossed, although considering they seem to want to leverage it as a tentpole marketing hook, I wouldn't cross 'em too hard.

Early scuttlebutt has it that it's set in the "prime" universe and that the seasons might be self-contained, and scattered throughout the timeline.

Apparently it's set about a decade or so prior to Kirk's time (which should technically mean that Pike and Spock are tooling around on the Enterprise.) Can't say I'm thrilled that they went the prequel route, but it's Nicholas Meyer tackling Trek, so it's impossible not to give it the benefit of the doubt.
