Oh that slash vids been around for ages.

I used to read slash trek once and it's right funny.  Kirk is definately a Lady's man, it's the stress of his job see, he needs a lady's touch.

Well that vid is new to me :D

I haven't read any Kirk/Spock slash. I have read a few ENT slash fics. The best one I have ever read was Isosceles which is a Archer/T'Pol/Trip fic. It's really very very good!

Honestly, I don't know why I call myself a trekkie as opposed to a trekker, i just like the way it sounds better I think. IIRC Trekkie was the original term from the 60/70s and Trekker was from the 80s.

DFG is there a particular reason why you consider yourself a trekker and not a trekkie?

Actually, this debate goes back to the '70s, and has more to do with eliteism than anything else.

The term "Trekker" is meant to portray a less "fannish", more mature aspect of ST fandom, whereas "Trekkies" were considered drooling geeks(me!,me!). And "Trekkie" was the term those outside of the ST circles tended to use to describe fans. Mainly by science fiction fans that considered the show beneath them.

It kinda reminds me of when the Sci-Fi Network premiered. Most fans at that time referred to science fiction as SF - Sci-Fi was a term that Forrest J. Ackerman coined in the late '50s (pronounced "skiffy"), and a lot of folks were up in arms over it, due to the fact that FJA edited "Famous Monsters of Filmland", a rather juvenile publiction. The hard-core fans at the time had a problem with the connotations of the term, and resisted it for years. If you used that word, you weren't "one of us". Imagine the dismay of fandom when the Sci-Fi Network made the term mainstream!

Thanks for the explanation eLNunn. I proudly call myself a Trekkie :)

Ok Impromptu Poll since I don't think I can make a poll inside a post.

Rank the series by your prefences.

Mine:

1. ENT
2. DS9 and TOS (tie)
3. TNG
4. VOY

Well at least they are showing the eps in order. When ENT was in syndication on the regular channels they were showing eps all out of order. Hope they get some new viewers on the Scifi Channel :)

Some of you may have already seen this before but some of you have not.  Yeah you can all have a good laugh.  Well I once was mad on classic trek and my auntie made me this dress, without a pattern, so she was very clever to be able to do this.

I was 19 years old there but many ppl tell me I look only 12, lol.  I was once very slim too.

Cute hay, lol.  Yes to Angel I do still have the dress but even if I could get into which I can't, it's so old it is freying as it was made from silk curtain lining.

To XS4Xver yes I do still have the phaser some where in the house, lol.

I've thrown away a lot of trek stuff but there are still some things I keep, as a sort of time capsual to remind me of my prevous life before Lexx, lol.

I grew up virtually TV-less, so the first Trek I ever saw was the movies at a friend's place. I think I had never seen any sci-fi before, so it was quite the stunner :)

I can't say which is my fav yet, because I haven't managed to catch all of it on TV yet.
