I have a bunch of them, they're all kinds of pics tho, not all of them are liquid like this one but I can put some more up..:c030a:

This one's not liquid but it reminds me of the Grand Tetons, maybe that's because it is...hehe

Cool I love his work.  He's the one that also did the design of the Alien and it's ship.

That he did.

The Alien films--the first two, anyway--got me into Giger's artwork (creature design), Joseph Conrad's writing (ship names--Nostromo and Sulaco); and despite my utterly unquantifiable hatred for the third film, I quite enjoy the rest of David Fincher's catelogue.

This would you believe is a pattern for counted cross stitch, called Factual.  Hell I would not be able to make that for sure.  You'd need a lot of patience which I've not got.

...that last amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the centre of all infinity—the boundless daemon-sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin, monotonous whine of accursed flutes; to which detestable pounding and piping dance slowly, awkwardly, and absurdly the gigantic ultimate gods, the blind, voiceless, tenebrous, mindless Other Gods...

Subject: Sisters

A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day, drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter.

"Don't forget your Sisters," she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. "They'll be more important as you get older. No matter how much

you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you may have, you are still going to need Sisters. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them."

"Remember that 'Sisters' means ALL the women... your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other women relatives too. "You'll need other women. Women always do."

What a funny piece of advice!' the young woman thought. Haven't I just gotten married?

Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married woman, for goodness sake! A grownup! Surely my husband and the family we may start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!'

But she listened to her Mother. She kept contact with her Sisters and made more women friends each year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her Mom really knew what she was talking

about. As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, Sisters are the mainstays of her life.

After more than 50 years of living in this world, here is what I've learned:

THIS SAYS IT ALL:

Time passes.

Life happens.

Distance separates.

Children grow up.

Jobs come and go.

Love waxes and wanes.

Men don't do what they're supposed to do.

Hearts break.

Parents die.

Colleagues forget favors.

Careers end.

BUT.........

Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you. A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach.

When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you...Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life!

The world wouldn't be the same without women, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other.

Lets hope this loads.

I had to load up the thumb nail as the other photo was too large.  This is a photo from a place called Millienum Park in Chicgo.

Right I was not sure where to post this, so I thought I'd post it in this thread.

I made this Celtic Counted Cross Stitch Pattern, with a programme I have and thought you might like to make it for your self in what ever is your favorite color.

I did not design that.  I just typed her name in a box and it transformed it into the above, so I can't take credit.  Ketana told me ages that she likes to stitch, so thought instead of me doing it for her, so could.  Do a bit here and there and as there's no back stitching it's even more easy to stitch.

Ketana if she wanted could do these below too

Right here's a photo of a Prying Mantis craved out of ice and it's taken at night.  I love the green glow effect that back lights it.

ANYWAY...

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;

                                  Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;

                                  Be kind anway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;

                                  Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;

                                   Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;

                                    Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;

                                     Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;

                                      Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;

Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;

It was never between you and them anyway.

Prophetic too...we had two tornadoes touch down less than fifteen miles from where I work today.  Suffice to say we were all pretty much glued to the radio and wound up getting very little done.

Once in Puerto Rico at my father's house a tropical wave descended in the area and I tell ya's I was never so scared in my entire little life..the wind was unbelievable and the rain! The rain came down in sheets..Dad said it was at least 3" of rain in less than an hour! The road in front of his home became a river!! The branches floated past and I nearly lost my thong!! hehehe my slipper you nasty minded lexxians!! and yeah of course I had to stand out there and feel the storm lashing the area!! mind ya, Dad called me a fool and yelled at me! "Don'tcha got the sense God gave ya?!" Gads I miss him terribly!

A few years back in Texas, visiting wif da Maya she very kindly took us to the Texas Botantical Gardens, quite pretty! Anyhoo we were feeding the giant monstah koi fishies and I'm standing on the edge, totally mesmerized by them when suddenly they leapt up and tried to drag me down with them! hehehe..Maya said she never saw me move so fast..I jumped over her to get the hell out of the way! Got Koi fishy water all over my pretty yellow dress..ewwwwwwww!

I quite like that too.  He's going against the waves as if it's a struggle to get to the escalators and continue on with the ho-humness of life.

Oh yeah, Death of a Salesman... Noticing how big the escalators are could that be interpreted as something overwhelming, and going against the waves as a hurdle he has to get through to get past his failures?  Oh hell, I don't even make any sense to myself.... :D

Unbelievable but true, it's called a naked mole rat from Africa:

they are heaven on earth Jerhume, please don't tell me you've never smelled their scent? it would be so sad to hear that..perfumes and colognes don't do them justice. There is nothing like picking one and putting it in your hair..the scent is with you for days. Their petals are waxy as is their leaves, a hearty flower and they grow in bushes..they were very popular in the 40's and 50's but now not so much..

We had Gardina bushes outside our door where I grew up and they were the best smell... sooo fragrent.  They always remind me of home on hot, humid summer nights with  lightning bugs floating around on a small breeze that brought that scent to you, the crickets chirping down at the lake, and the stars that flickered in the Georgia night sky as we sat out on blankets because it was too hot inside, drinking sweet iced tea and eating barbeque... how southern can you get?  Only if you throw some Magnolia in there as well... like the large tree we had in our front yard.  That scent mingling with Gardina...that is Georgia like moonlight through the pines.... Damn... now I have that song stuck in my head!

I agree Chessie, they are adorable, but still have the nature of a bear.

It's echinacea, which is a natural way to help boost your immune system. I usually take it if I feel a cold coming on and I do think it helps a bit.

The left side looks like someone with 6 psychedelic toes.  Or it looks like a kewl way to come thru the fractal core.

My kind neighbour across the road kindly weeded my front garden and then she took me to a garden place to get some plants and I planted but not all in one. Core it nearly killed me all that digging up and planting, lol.

I brought the mice statue to, it is so cute.

I also got this chair which is very useful, as I can hang on with one hand while digging. Turn it up the other way and I can use it as a gardening chair.
I'm not very keen on planting but I do love weeding. It was my dad that had the green fingers in our house.

No, not potatoes.  There were four eggs, two of which I had accidently broken and the small round things were  tiny doughnuts that I brought but becuase  I've been having the bad sickness again, I could not bring my self to eat them, so  the fox had them.  The other bits of food were the cats left  overs.  Nothing gets wasted in our house.  Birds and fox always eat it and with two cats in the house, there's no rats.  Btw my ginger cat was sitting in the bush and the fox knew.  So all those people who say foxes attack cat's is not quite correct.  They'll only attack a cat if it's ill, old or been threathened or your near it's cubs.

Yeah and they have no need to attack them if they get a gourmet meal too, !! :) Pretty fox, but they have a weird cry at night that sounds like a strangled scream sometimes..very spooky.  Nice garden, DFG, you must have done a ton of hard work on it !

Yeah it is hard to believe that awful cry is a fox.  It's both creepy and also sounds like they are in pain.

Here's a really nice photo of The Plieades, or the Seven Sisters as it is sometimes know as.  If I remember rightly from years ago when I used to study Astronomy, Blue/White Stars are the hottest Suns.  Our Sun is Yellow, not so hot and Red stars are the coolest would you believe.  There are over 200 stars in it.  M45 can be located with the naked eye, near the constellation of Taurus the Bull.

Oh that second picture brings back memoreis. There used to be on like it hanging on the wall in the control room of a recording studio I worked in years ago. A bunch of us got into a disagreement over which way was right-side-up and which way was upside-down.:D I like it the way it is shown here.

Well you see our little  Blue planet called Earth has poles, North and South but Uranus has East and West poles because Atronomers say a long time a go something hit Uranus and made that planet flip it's axis's, so it's poles are different to our planet.

I never saw it but I did hear it and it the awful noise scared the shit out of my cat Fifi. The poor dogs next door were barking their heads off as they also find it stressful.

In fact since the beginning of November we've had fireworks going off nearly every day. I hate it. Sorry to be a kill joy. I'd design fireworks with no sound because I do like to watch them, I just hate the noise.

Photographer Thomas Laupstad took this amazing photo of a sunset in Northern Norway … at midnight!

Scenes like this one below is why Northern Norway is known as the Land of the Midnight Sun. Being north of the Arctic circle, the sun doesn’t set from May to July and doesn’t rise from November to January.

Here's the link to the other photos, http://blog.thomaslaupstad.com/2008/02/27/my-top-midnight-sun-pictures-in-northern-norway-from-2007/

This sort of reminds me of going to the fair when I was a kid. My favorite booth was one where they had a piece of cardboard stuck to a rotating wheel. You drizzled different colored paints on the spinning paper from squeeze bottles to make crazy designs.

EQUAL BUT NOT THE SAME

"Equal" is not always synonymous with "the same." Men and women are created
equal. But, boys and girls are not born the same.
1. You throw a little girl a ball, and it will hit her in the nose. You throw
a little boy a ball, and he will try to catch it. Then it will hit him in the
nose.
2. You dress your little girl in her Easter Sunday best, and she'll look
just as pretty when you finally make it to church an hour later. You dress a boy
in his Easter Sunday best, and he'll somehow find every mud puddle from your
home to the church, even if you're driving there.
3. Boys' rooms are usually messy. Girls' rooms are usually messy, except it's
a good smelling mess.
4. A baby girl will pick up a stick and look in wonderment at what nature has
made. A baby boy will pick up a stick and turn it into a gun.
5. When girls play with Barbie and Ken dolls, they like to dress them up and
play house with them. When boys play with Barbie and Ken dolls, they like to
tear off their appendages.
6. Boys couldn't care less if their hair is unruly. If their bangs got cut a
quarter-inch too short, girls would rather lock themselves in their room for two
weeks than be seen in public.
7. Baby girls find mommy's makeup and almost instinctively start painting
their face. Baby boys find mommy's makeup and almost instinctively start
painting the walls.
8. If a girl accidentally burps, she will be embarrassed. If a boy
accidentally burps, he will follow it with a dozen fake belches.
9. Boys grow their fingernails long because they're too lazy to cut them.
Girls grow their fingernails long - not because they look nice - but because
they can dig them into a boys arm.
10. Girls are attracted to boys, even at an early age. At an early age, boys
are attracted to dirt.
11. By the age of 6, boys will stop giving their dad kisses. By the age of 6,
girls will stop giving their dad kisses unless he bribes them with candy.
12. Most baby girls talk before boys do. Before boys talk, they learn how to
make machine-gun noises.
13. Girls will cry if someone dies in a movie. Boys will cry if you turn off
the VCR after they've watched "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie three times
in a row.
14. Girls turn into women. Boys turn into bigger boys.

Now you mention it yeah. I just love it because I love sunflowers and sunsets.

The cat one is my desktop background at the moment. It really reminds me of my ginger cat Kai after he's sniff too much catnip.

craziest festival
Where it's held: Bunol, near the Spanish city of Valencia
What happens: One hundred tons of over-ripe tomatoes are tossed into the streets, where tens of thousands of revellers quickly reduce them to pulp, leap around and generally enjoy being drenched in reddish, tomato-flavoured mush. Ever wondered what ketchup would be like if it consisted of 60% human sweat? Time to find out.
Why it happens: Nobody's entirely sure, but a food fight of some sort back in the 1940s is thought to have been such fun that it turned into an annual tradition.
Best reason to attend: Nothing unites people like an essentially meaningless large-scale food fight; you'll get to mingle with many folks from dozens of countries and see the humble tomato in a whole new light.

Actually she has eight eyes. Much better to have a few spiders in the garden then having to use nasty chemicals to kills flies and other nasty critters.

As long as they stay OUTSIDE. Although I was a little creep ed out last winter when a big spider made a cozy cone shaped web in a corner next to front door. He would pop up out of the entrance to his web/lair to check out anyone approaching my door. Since I have only 1 entrance to my place, it was creepy to have the little devil watch me every time I left or came home. I looked him up in the internet and found out he was a grass spider and not a hunting spider like I had thought because of the way he would come out an looke at anyone approaching the door. All my concern came to nothing because he moved on this spring.

Because I study spiders. I also have quite a few videos and books on spiders too.

You can't see them from that photo but she has four little eyes, two each side of her head.

Want know something else, the male spider poor sod, is smaller then the female and with some spiders after he's mated with her, she's eat him or she may even eat before they've mated. So I feel sorry for the male spiders.

Bit like the praying mantis when he's mating, the female bites his head off, but it ok as he has a brain in arse. A bit like some humans then, lol.

Oh yes I do like lizards too.

I like most animals infact. I know quite a few things about different animals as I was force fed animal programs by my dad when I was younger, lol.

I was going to have a pet lizard or snake once but when I found out I had to fed them dead baby chickens and dead mice as pet shops don't sell them live, I went off the idea and in the end brought a Chilean Rose Tarantula which sadly died a year and half after I had it:( I only had to fed them live grasshoppers which I don't have a fondness for. When the odd moth came through window I catch them to give it. You also could feed them maggots but hell if I'm going pick one of them up, they disgust me. So it just got grasshoppers once a week.

Now I just have two cats and five mice. And a zebra spider living in my outside toilet.

Not sure I'd want one for a roomy, but he does have some pretty markings. I wonder if Iguanas show affection? I'm a land baby, so I'm much more comfortable with mammals. :D  My mom & dad lived next door to some people who kept a full grown alligator in their basement! You can bet no one ever broke into that house! LOL

I don't have anything against alligators but I don't think I'd want to live near some one that had one in case it ate my cats.

I don't know if I've mentioned this before but if a croc or ally came on tv both my parents used to say, turn them all into handbags and shoes. They hated them.

Those are really nice photos Maya.  I love the Flame trees and a nice little stream you have there, much better then the crappy stream down the end of my garden.  Well it's man made our stream that's why it's not that nice and natural looking, apart from all the fallen branches and leaves etc., in.

No I don't have a calender program. I wouldn't want one anyway. Ink it too expnsive.

I've had a calender I keep that was originally from my cousin in Canada. I cut off the year it was and just hang the photos and turn the pages each month. One of those photo's you have is very similar to one I have.

Yeah I have three cd called Living Jigsaws. They have these amazing jigsaws that move, even when the parts are not put together and they have sound too. They also have still photo in them and every Friday I go to the site and d/l for free their photo of the week.

Some are a real hard and some or too easy. When I waiting for a page to load or chatting, I sometimes play them.

Here's the site I got those cd's from http://www.livingscenes.com. You can d/l the program for a 30 day free trial. I got that original link off download.com years ago now.

And the good thing about this program I had save it at any point. I don't have to worry about carrying heavy boards around or trying find a place to put it that the cat can't get at it. It took me a while to get used to it but I really love this program.

I have a bug in my name because the bug as you call it, is the letter F in Hieroglyphs.

I had to do a screen shot to save it to my computer because it would not let me save the whole picture to my hard drive.  So here's the link to that page, so you can see what Ketana is in Hieroglyphs,

OoOOOoO I remember being in Puerto Rico and we were bathing in a natural hot springs, I was climbing down to reach the pool when suddenly out of the corner of my eye I spotted a PINK dragonfly. As pink as the day is long, a most beautiful thing! I looked around and standing next to me was my brother-in-law and I squealed loudly, "Look a pink one," my brother-in-law smiled and continued down the mountainside to stand next to his wife, my sister and said to her, "ya sister is losing her mind," we laughed because he doesn't know how close he is to the truth but imagine seeing a PINK dragonfly flitting around..so pretty.

This reminds me of a Red Dwarf episode :D

Red Dwarf a tv series I've not watched for a while but have them all on video.  What episode does it remind you of then CheshireKat?
The one where they first meet Kriton. He's still 'serving' the dead crew members of his original ship. Especially the scene with the skeletons sitting around the dinner table. :P

Oh yes it's all coming back to me now.  That's the one where Rimmer says those girls have got less meat on them, than a Chickhen McNugget, lol.

Oh that was David Ross who played the first Kyton as he was original be in one episode.

Not sure if this is the right place to post these, but what ever I had to share them with you.  I just found these photos at my nieces facebook.

This first one is of Emma and Laura when they were little but I don't know how old they were in this photo, as I never took it.

Now look at Emma, 24 and even more pretty and cute.  She's the one that's an actress but sadly she's still had no acting work this year:(  That girl sure knows how to dress.

And here's one of Laura and her 3 year old daughter Caitlin who is such a cutie too.  Laura has lovely eyes but she thinks she not very pretty, but I think she is.  I hope I get to see them at Christmas, I so do miss them.  There's only six months between the two cousins and Emma is the oldest, as her birthday is first but every one thinks Laura is the oldest of the two as she is so tall.

WARNING Bilbo should look at this.

This is so cute and who could be afraid and hate this little jumping spider. Yes it really is real and does have that smile on it's face.

Aww, it is cute.  But my guess is that it'd still make Bilbo pee his pants.

Oh what a beautiful cat.   Reminds me of my sister once had a cat that looked like that cat but she only had three legs.  We used to call her hop along Lucy.

My ginger cat Kai used to bring in a lot of mice and sit there and eat them in front of me sometimes.  Sometimes he'd bring them in and let them loose hoping I would play with it with him, but I'd just put humane mouse traps down.

Fortunately he does not bring them in now.

My big white cat used to be quite the bird hunter. She found one in my furnace closet one time. Once she brought one in from outside and set it on the floor next to her food dish in the kitchen. Then she layed down on the carpet in the entry way to the kitchen to take a nap before eating the bird. Poor bird was too scared to move.

Stories such as these aren't going to do anything to help bring the Cat Fanciers into the Audubon Society.
My old cat Felix - who looked almost exactly as the fellow in your avatar - was a merciless predator.
It was a facet to his personality that caused me some grief, such as when I found him under my mother's bed with my rather incomplete pet gerbil. The 8 inch diameter pool of crimson on the floor nearby had clued me as to his locale.
On another occasion - as with careful inspection I was able to discern - he'd brought a squirrel into the house; but it really didn't agree with him. (In an admittedly belated deference to this topic's name I will not describe the scene further.)
The most amazing thing was seeing him take out an adult blue bird. He crept up stealthily from behind an oak tree through some tall grass to a distance of about 2 meters, waiting until the bird was turned away from him to start his attack. Suddenly he shot himself at the bird, bounded at the half-way point, and caught the poor thing in mid-air a short distance off the ground in a triangulation of paws and jaws.
I would have stopped him from doing these things if I'd had the presence of mind or means to do so, but on the other hand, it lifts my heart to remember the pride with which he held himself - tail *high* in the air crooked alternately in one direction then the other - after one of these conquests.
As for mice, having had them eat and recreate and whatnot en mass amongst a group of my personal possessions, I have lost what sympathy for them I once felt.

I do not like mice at all. One night while watching TV I saw something out of the corner of my eye and it was a mouse running along the baseboard. Needless to say, I was at the store at 10 pm at night buying mouse traps. I couldn't sleep a wink that night knowing it was in my house, I looked at the traps the next morning and no mouse was caught. Another sleepless night later I looked again and had caught the cutest little white and gray mouse. I kind of felt bad about it dying, but just couldn't get over the fact one had been running around the house, so I chucked it in the trash and have been mouse free ever since.

I'm surprised your cat went after a rodent the size of a squirrel. Some of the squirrels around here are nearly as big as cats! After all, a squirrel is just a rat with a better tailor.

Makes me think of my sister's cat when she was a kitty and she could a huge koi crap fish. It was bigger then her. She turned up with it at their back garden door, with it's tail wagging backwards and forwards.

My sister said the fish only survived when her cat smudge lost interest in it and because it had been raining there was quite alot of water about so the fish survived.

The neighbor's golden retriever once got a little too close to Felix and came away with a deeply cleft nose. After about a year-and-a-half the tables turned back again, but until then that dog would go *running* at the first sight of the black-and-white cat. I think the squirrel was a small-ish one, but there wasn't much left to judge by except the fluffy bits of grey fur.

I had a cat named Trigger growing up and whenever the dog chased her she would get sick of it, turn around, claw at his nose, then she'd chase him and he'd go running.  She was a tough old cat that didn't take any shit from anything.
