I really liked the series and wish there had been more seasons. The night I saw the movie, there was a couple ahead of us in line, who had never watch much sci fi before let alone seen the series. Theysat in front of us in the theater, and they really seemed to enjoy the movie. They laughts and gsped in all the right parts. I thought the movie was quite a bit different than the regular eps, but it was really great.

I agree, I thought they did a terrific job on the film, it really tied together all the loose ends and basically gave us the whole premise in a nutshell, not to mention that Nathan looked pretty hot...

I made my way through the series and finally the movie Serenity on DVD and at first I was like hrmm...not sure if I dig it or not.  After watching a few eps I had to see the rest of it and it took me a week of watching an ep each day and some on a couple of weekends and I was glad I did, I really liked this series.  It's sort of old west meets outer space, low key on the special effects and a bit of quirkiness tossed in.  I would definitely recommend this.  They don't rely on any fancy technobabble or alot of special effects as I said, which makes it a bit more raw sci fi, definitely no rubber faced aliens in this series.

They messed it up in the original run by showing the pilot last... network politics :wuta:

So, who else loved Jaynestown? :roflrofla:

I saw the movie first and had no idea it was the last season of firefly. Then my Honey told me about it. So Netflix instant queued it we liked but me personally enjoyed serenity more. For the reason zsx4xevr said. Also I enjoy the cowboy western feel to it and the misfits element to it and both were extremely comical :D just like Maya said. I watch serenity when ever its on TV lol never get sick of it.

My 2 nitpicks with Serenity are...
a) Reavers lost a lot of that wonderfully creepy, uncanny aura. They just don't live up to the expectations raised by the series.
b) They *totally* wasted my favorite character. I just thought "WTF - that's IT?" Meh.

But overall - not a bad movie, I think. Given the circumstances and all, they wrapped it up quite nicely.

Was it Wash? I was so bombed out when Wash go killed :P As for the Reavers the space they were passing throw made me hold my breath till they reached the planet. I liked the story behind how the Reavers came to be. I was a little bit like the movie Doom. Those who were not aggressive just lay down and fell 'asleep'. In the movie Doom with the a pure heart became super human. Those with the more aggressive and utterly evil changed into monsters just like the Reavers did. I was very scared of the Reavers even more when I saw them up close just before River pwan them:D
