I found a local ad today for Lab puppies that will be ready to go home just when i was hoping to introduce one... last week of November or first week of December. I called the breeder while I was AIMing with Mom, and sadly their chocolates are all spoken for (which is what Joe wanted the most... a 'brown' one) but he's got some black males and females left that aren't spoken for. They are raised with kids, and from good lines, so Mom is driving me over in the morning to have a look at the litter. If I find one that clicks, I'll leave a deposit and go from there. Mom says Lab people in England are kinda weird (she should know, she was one of them for years LOL), so I'm taking out my piercings tonight and dressing like *gasps* a normal person for the meeting. We want them to get to know ME and understand that I am indeed animal savvy before they find out I'm a bit mental ~_^ Off shall come the bracelets, and on shall go the long sleeved shirts to conceal the tats. I'm tying up the mane and applying my make-up rather than layering it... ah, the things I do for my son and his happiness!

Mom has two Boxer pups that might not be spoken for yet, and she has said that even if it falls through and they don't like me for whatever reason, SHE trusts me and says if I want I can possibly buy the little girl with the tail that I adore. I wanted a Boxer anyway, but Joe is obsessed with Mom's breeding biatch, Buffy, and I wasn't sure that was wise. Still, I'd love to have a Buffy baby! I told her, if I could get away with it, I'd have two! So at least if this Lab thing doesn't work out, maybe I can still get Joe that puppy he's been yerning for by the end of the month ^_^ The Boxers are ready to go in 16 days. Besides, who wouldn't want a Boxer with a tail?! Well, besides this person who said they wanted her, and have now said well, maybe not. They've got until Friday to decide. See, now THIS is why I couldn't breed dogs! I sold one for Mom once, and that was bad enough. These people called and said they would be there at a certain time, so I was like okay, come have a look, but remember we will sell to the home that feels right! Well, they didn't show, and when they were a couple hours late this other couple called. They came and saw the pup and it was an instant click. I knew it, they knew it... Sooty knew it... he's the daddy, by the way... Mom's now geriatric Labby. So I agreed to the sale and they took their new pup home. Well, half an hour later the other people finally showed (now THREE hours late with no call) and chewed me out because I had sold the dog. I told them, if they weren't responsible enough to come on time or even call, and didn't have a reason as to WHY they were so terribly late, I didn't feel comfortable handing one of the pups *I* had helped rear over to them anyway.

Yes, I babble when I'm excited and believe me... I am VERY excited!!! *does the happy cat dance* I told Joe about it when he got home, and when we went out for our walk before tea, he was walking his pretend dog again. It didn't get told off this time, but it apparently was very sick and he had to vet it. I didn't realise he was a qualified vet...

This is a baby Boxer with a tail... hello, Smushy Face! Well, her name is Tippy, but as I bear the scar on my cheek from the bite of a dog named Tippy I have issues with calling her that LOL!

and, entirely unrelated, but I'm showing to everybody who will hold still, this is me riding my luffly Samson today going over not one, not two, not three but four, yes four crossrails *holds for applause, hears crickets* dammit... ~_^ I'm going now...

I love black labs, Kitty, I hope you can get one.  If not, the boxer pup is sure cute.

Samson kinda has that look doesn't he? I asked what he is once, and I was just told Cob heh heh He is the first and only horse I've done four in a row on, and next week... we're going for five! He's a handful, but if you know how to work him, he'll give you everything he's got. Sadly, he's getting on in years, so I don't know how long I've got left before he retires, but I'm told it's not THAT soon, which is of the good! Next weeks will include a hop-over, where there are no strides in between one of the sets, and I've never done that before so I'm well excited! Yes, Kitty luffs her horse friends ^_^

And now, Kitty has a NEW friend! *drum roll please...* I hath fallen in love... the interview for the Lab pup went beautifully and I've met our new family member. Like with my Lab/Spaniel cross, Noxie, who I had as a kid, it was an instant click like knowing 'THIS is my dog...' so I put down a deposit and am going to go back and visit him again in a week or so. Bailey can come home the last week of November when he is 8wks old, and I am SO excited! Mom and I were going 'You've got a puppy!' and 'I've got a puppy!' respectively on the way home LOL Here he is, in all his adorable, five week old glory! Sorry its a bit dark, I'll remember that for the next visit... better lighting for photos! He's got a lovely, boxy head too *dreamy Lab induced sighs* Just wish you could see it better here! Incidentally Mom, the former Lab breeder, said he was HER pick too! So Kitty done good... you DO realise I'm going to drive you insane with this dog, right?! ~_^

Fear Me!!!!

I told Mom ages ago that one day I would have a Lab in each color. The chocolate and black would be Riley and Bailey (I think either name fits either color, but I'd decided the first would be Bailey regardless) and the yellow would be Cody. I like 'e' sounding names. My aunt also has a black Lab named Daly (Daily in pronouncement) so 'e' names fit in with the family theme... I'm not sure why I chose that one, but it seems a LOT of Lab owners have! When I was looking at the books in Pets at Home when we first decided on Labs, a man was in there with a yellow Lab named Bailey, and there are half a dozen on the forum I have been lurking at named Bailey as well. I don't think I'll stick with that forum, to post anyway. They're the 'full of themselves, holier than thou' type, most of them, and I don't want them telling me what to do with MY dog! And they do as well... dishing out advice where it isn't wanted or needed, but wanting everybody to raise their dogs the same way they do. I'll just attack you with Bailey pix instead ^_^ I'm sending out real Christmas cards this year, but I've decided to also get a pic of Joe with Bailey when he comes home, and I'm going to make an e-card for all my lufflies as well that is more personal. If I had more time, I'd do print out cards with a Joe/Bailey theme. Aw well, next year! heh heh

Kitty gots a puuuuuuuppy!   Kitty gots a puuuuuuuppy!

*cough* sorry ~_^

Hahaha, yeah right... :speechless2:

Bailey is a sweetie too. You must be one lucky woman to be able to keep so many four-legged friends.

Heh heh... naw, Samson doesn't belong to me, he's just my bestest equine buddy. He belongs to the stable where I ride. I'm too poor to buy my own horse! I've been saving for the last couple months and tightening the belt big time to buy this puppy. I've got several animals, but they're mostly rabbits or smaller, with Keys, my cat, being the exception. Hamsters and gerbils are much cheaper to feed than a horse! Its on my list, but I think it will be a very long time before I reach that point. MUCH saving to be done there! Personally, at this stage I rather prefer riding the stable horses, because it means that I get to ride a wide variety, and I'm not stuck with all the bills. I always budget very carefully before I bring home a new pet, but for me it is worth it. My son and I relate to animals better than people, so we like to have them around. Besides, Bailey Dawg is the first pet I've bought in AGES... well over a year I think... Keys was given to me by my mom when he was only about 5mths old, if that (he's 6 now), Buster and Lucy (my first two Dutch rabbits) came from Mom... Rosie Real and Miracle are their babies as Luce was pregnant when Mom brought them over and I decided to keep two of the babies... uh... oh, the hamster trio, the two guinea pigs and the gerbils and Joe's goldfish... all from Mom as well! So really, the only pet that I've got right now that I bought and paid for myself is Hobie, my Netherlands Dwarf cross rabbit, and he's about 3... I think. I'd have to agree tho, I AM lucky... I've got a son who shares my passion for animals, a cat that adores (stalks) me, and I managed to find the perfect dog for us. Now, if only I could convince the neighbor that a pony in the garden really wouldn't be such a bad thing... ~_^

A puppy isn't just for Christmas... you can put some in the freezer and have it for Easter as well.

Okay, who wants to pretend to be shocked first... since yesterday I've acquired another cat. This is where you all act like you never saw THAT coming in a million years! My sister bought this kitten but is never home, so it just sat and yowled all day because it was lonely. People were being kept up at night because Jazz wasn't there to keep him company and it wasn't thriving, so she had Mom ask me if I'd give him a home. I can't help myself, he needs me! He's off making friends with Keys at the moment. Keys is curious, and Red keeps batting him LOL His name is actually Garfield, but I don't like it so I'm calling him Red as a nick ^_^ He is VERY vocal (gives Keys a run for his money, and Keys is Siamese!) but Mom says that is only when he is nervous or left all by himself... he's got Keys to play with when I'm not home, and he can tease Bailey when he arrives... so I think he'll be happy! I couldn't bear for him to go to a shelter, because I know what happens if they don't find homes... and one more won't break the budget! If it was another dog, perhaps, but a cat... no LOL When he calms down I'll get a photo for you. I don't want to freak him out. Kitty is officially one step closer to reaching the life-long goal of 'crazy cat lady' :c030a:
