Been doing some stress relief activities :).  The first one is completely finished. Kind of crazy colors to put together, but I had an image in my mind of how I wanted it to look.  The last 2 are works in progress.  Nice to have 2 different ones going so that if I get tired of one set of colors, I can switch to something else.

These are really lovely, especially the first two.  I mean I love the colors of the first two.  I still have the lovely one you kindly sent me last year and it keeps me nice a warm in bed.

I have no idea how you do those but crochet is one stitch I'm not able to do unfortunately.  My sister said your blanket was really nice too and she sometimes does the crochet but it's nothing like yours CheshireKat.

I love hand made stuff.

I'm trying knit my sister in law a scarf at the moment.  I started it two months ago but it gets so painful I have to stop, so that is why I started so early.  I'm supposed to be making one for my niece but I don't think I'll be able too now.  The wool I'm using is acrylic and looks like feathers sort of and it's quite difficult to knit with because you can't see the knitted stitches very well and I had to undo it 8 times before I got it right.  I kept on ending up with more stitches then I cast on with.  The kit came with 4 x 50gm balls and I'm only on my second ball:(

Thanks for showing us your lovely work:)

I can't knit worth crap.  I took a class from a friend of my mom's one time. I tried to knit a dish rag but it ended up looking like the state of Montana with lots of holes in it. :(  I don't know anyone really who does both knit & crochet.  Most people prefer one or the other.  I bet the scarf you're knitting is really pretty but that kind of yarn does sound difficult to work with. It'll be really lovely when you're done.

I ment to mention it's a Xmas present too.  I do know quite a few people who do both on the various boards I sometime visit.  Well when I've finished it and if I can get my camera to work because it's on the blink, I'll post it here.

You know I learnt to knit in my early 20's by lots of different people.  At first I only knew how to knit and not cast on or off and I only knew knit stitch and not purl.  Well of course I know how to do purl but I never really do anything that is complicated as I don't understand patterns and stuff.  Three of my nieces when they were little alwyas got nice knitted cardigans all year around.  I just used to use wool that had lots of colors in them and that would make up for the plain pattern I used.  I did have a go at doing jumpers but I'm crap at picking up stitches at the neck, so I just went back to cardigans.  And you could knit the button boarder sperate too which got over the not having to pick up the stitches on the edges.

Here's some gift bags I learnt how to make.  Some are origami and some are not.

One on the left is made from a envelope and the one on the right is origami flat parcel I think it's called.

Various card boxes, some made with 2009 Xmas cards.  Some I made from templates.

The origami gift bags red and blue ones are made from A4 copy paper and the one next to it from a free flower magazine.  The Cream box with the bear on it is made from one single sheet of scrap book paper.

Youtube is amazing as it has so many things you can learn to make if your into that sort of thing or have time.

I felt a right idiot because before Xmas of last year we had a family get together and three of my nieces and my sister in law asked me to show them how to make the origami gift bags.  There's me half way through when my blasted brain went blank and I forgot how to do the rest.  So in the end they never got to know how to make them.

So now I never had to pay for a gift bag or box or try and find one that fits any one item, as I can now do them my self and with lots of free magazine papers about.  I'm all for recyling when I can.

What is the name of that crochet stitch or pattern?  I am learning crochet now and in the process of making a traditional granny square blanklet, if that means anything to you.  It has lots of holes in it, lol.  I've always wanted to learn how to crochet too. I don't think I'll ever be as good as my sister is at it but then she can't knit  and I can.

I not able to jump for joy, so here's a icon that can:bounce_pinka:

Sometime this year I found a wonderful video tutorial on youtbe on crocheting.  Well look at this.  It's taken me two months to get this far, and it's not finished yet.  As it gets bigger it take longer to go around a complete square.  My niece said she might want it but if not I will keep it for my self.  It's continous granny sqaure.

Looks like kitty is having a good time relaxing in your chair, hehehe..Yes everytime I try to do a little crochet she jumps on my lap and that was not a problem until the blanket got bigger.  As soon as I leave the chair she jumps up there.  That is partly why I have the red micro fiber blanklet on there as I don't want her fur or claws on it.  Poor little darling she's so old.  I love her to bits.

Really nice work DFG! I know what you mean about your kitty laying on the whatever project I'm working on because Twilight was the same way. Both Twilight & Mu used to 'sleep test' my afghans :P  Your afghan really looks nice and your stitches are very even. Well Done!
